Paul Heyman has written a new column for The UK Sun titled, "Punk in Play". Heyman talks about on how WWE handled CM Punk's character in the past weeks. Here's what he wrote:
"There are many reasons the proverbial glass ceiling in WWE is being shattered, at least for the moment, by the Straight Edge performer from Chicago, Illinois, but here's one thing that can be stated as an "absolute"... the CM Punk character is "in play", and WWE is offering its audience the opportunity to come along for the ride and have an emotional investment in a genuinely interesting character. "
He also wrote about how the WWE landscape is changing, with top stars such as The Undertaker, Shawn Michaels, Batista and (soon) Jeff Hardy taking extended time off and the need for younger talent to step up. The source also said that it was indeed a good read, go check it out on The UK Sun's website.

As a fan of 90's ECW I'm cool with Heyman, but whatever. CM Punk has not been enjoyable at all to watch. Sure, I love new wrestles and talent getting pushed to change things up, but it's specificly this wrestler. He's horrible, nothing about him I can enjoy.
It would be like if in the "attitude era" X-Pac ended up the world champ.

CM Punk could be a great World Champion. Just turn him heel, give him back his blond hair and let him use his entire move repertoire.

I wish they would make him a heel. But he looks better without blonde (I don't think they have the guts to turn him)

You know, I thought Heyman was full of crap not too long ago. I'm starting to warm up to him. He's still a bit of a sensationalist, but he's been dead on a lot lately.

Anyone who says punk can't handle the title is utterly clueless. Go watch his performances in indy feds, the guy is awesome. But his character, and his moveset, is suppressed in WWE. He is more than good enough, both on the mic and in ring, to be champ.
The guy is a class athlete, and him versus jeff should be class too.

Wow, some of you people are more than a bit slow. They ARE turning Punk heel. Have you not seen Smackdown? It's just that they're trying to do it more organically.
Instead of him just nailing somebody with a chair out of nowhere, he seems to be turning in a more natural, realistic way. If they weren't turning him, they certainly wouldn't have him in a feud with Jeff Hardy, the most popular guy on the roster.
He's just becoming a "Thinking Man's Heel". That's my opinion. I just happen to be dead on about it.

Haymen is commenting on punk turning heel, if punk doesn't then he wouldn't be calling him a "genuinely interesting character".

CM Punk is a great wrestler, people who really know wrestling know that. but his move set is heavily cutted by WWE, understandable, by their constant fear of injuries, as some of the WWE's superstars work practically everyday of the week, and even the ones that don't, don't have that much time to rest and fully heal. I think it's a good move from the WWE this slow heel turn for CM punk, makes things more realistic, nobody changes his ways from one second to another like some turn we witnessed.
