As reported earlier, the WWE is doing an overhaul of ECW which is starting by changing the name of the brand to WWE NXT which will stand for WWE "Next Generation".
The problem is that there is already a NXT Wrestling Company which ALSO stands for Next Generation. Their website can be found at the source.
The NXT Company is an independant federation that is based in Rutherglen, Scotland and has been around since 2008. According to the site they have their own Wrestling School, Produce DVD's and have shows on a regular basis. Their next show is scheduled to be February 6th, 2010, this saturday.
Looks like the WWE needs to do their homework and look a little more indepthly into what they want to name their brands. That or they just don't care.

Does speculation really have a place in news articles like this one?
"That or they just don't care."
^ Cheap shot, and speculative.

@1: No, it isn't speculative. Vince doesn't care. You forget Vince McMahon once vetoed bringing Super Crazy to the WWE because, and I quote, "there are too many japs on the roster".

I think McMahon's going to be well aware of what Name's are copywrited and seeing as how NXT was just a rumor from a 'source' I think the problem has more to do with the rumor sites then the WWE not doing homework

@ #5 If you want to be taken seriously, use your game name. I do not recognize #5 as a comment.
Also, check the source. This was copied and pasted directly from source, and not in this reporter's words. So yeah The Nemesis is being completely fair in writing this, although he does lose a little credibility in directly copying something, as legal as it was for him to do it this way.

Is it JUST ME, or is this whole rumor about changing ECW to something else just stupid? Granted, I don't have cable so I can't watch RAW nor ECW, but if SyFy (formerly Sci-Fi) is asking the WWE to change the ECW name, why not call it FEW (Future Extreme Wrestling) to keep in theme with SyFy? Yes, I know that idea is LAME, but so is the reasoning for changing the name in the first place.

this is a perfect time for that NXT fed in Scotland to cash in. Sell the rights to their fed name for a large sum of money. Even if this Scottish fed has to change their name, it would be worth it if WWE is really willing to pay a lot of money for the name. If i was the owner of NXT i would call up WWE and offer the sale of his fed's name. Agree or disagree?
