The resignation of Shane McMahon came as a shock to everyone in the company. There was no notice given to his employees or close friends.
It is believed that Shane McMahon left the WWE to help his mother, Linda McMahon, in her bid to become Senator of Connecticut.
On WWE.com, Vince McMahon issued a statement.
"Even though I am personally saddened by Shane's decision to leave the company, I am proud of the enormous contributions he has made. He will unquestionable bring passion, commitment and extensive business experience to any endeavor he pursues."

Hopefully he will return after Linda's campaign or senate run, as he is possibly the best ever part time wreslters, as well as a having very good business mind and wrestling mind - possibly even more so than Vince did in his heyday, certainly he knows the game better than Vince does now.
