Reason why Flair won't induct Austin

As I reported yesterday, Stone Cold's wish of being inducted to the Hall Of Fame by Ric Flair was dismissed. Instead, Flair will induct Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat at the ceremony.

Apparently, the reason why Flair won't induct Steve Austin is that Vince McMahon was upset about the plans being leaked into the web and decided to change them.

The Dragon is getting in the HoF? I'm more amped about him than SCSA. Hope Steamboat is in the new Legends game complete with fire breathing ring entrance.

Lol... kids. I bet you're one of the wannabe smart-marks who bash Cena and Rey Misterio Jr. all day (even the real s-marks kissed his butt as he had those matches with Psychosis in old ECW) to make you look 15 instead of 12and really think that Vince is involved in story-writing. Yeah, of course they all got worse in WWE... your prob is that you can't realize the differences and possibilities between Indies and the Big Biz.

No you are wrong i am two times that age. I do not bash Rey but i do think he is not as good as he was in WCW, but totality think Cena is over pushed and mister wise guy Colt Vince has the last word. No story line gos out unless he gives it the word. Trust me i know the difference in the biz the indies care about there fans and push them selves to one day make it and that a hole Vince poop's on them.

It wasnt because he beat his wife?

Well, its true, Vince has lost it, he has lost it along time ago. As for Cena, yes he is overrated, but he isnt horrible, just a bit boring. As for Rey Mystery... he is getting major pushes for things normal luchadores get everyday and half of them do more.

Indies go for the fans because they need income and depend on loyal fans. Thats how indy companies survive.

Vince and WWE are surviving on the kid factor atm.

i just hope Ricky steamboat doesn't have to wear that lameass "dragon outfit" at the hof ceremony only the WWE would put one of there greatest wrestlers in a chinese dragon costume who is not chinese.

Also a footnote for you fans that don't remember Ricky he was the only wrestler to go through his entire career almost 20 years as a fan favorite and not go heel.

K, my reaction wasn't well balanced, too, i just saw "hate vinces, ruins all, makes good guys worse". Thing is, there are so many things you have to consider when you talk about Indy-WWE such as match lenght, selfmade promos by the wrestlers (look at Punks great promos and what he's doing now... or Cabana, what a lousy new net show), constrained movesets cause auf the kind of daily work and so on (i love him, but just look how Jericho developes his style). I am not a fan of Vince, Cena (superman push was ofc to big, but everbody in WWE says he is the hardest working man in the biz) or Rey. But fact is those guys get the reactions Vince wants - and of course it's all for the money, it always was. I think WWE needs guys like Sapolsky for their writing team, fresh guys who just live the biz - those structures are just deadlocked, old guys who got tired (who have to google for guys like Danielson, Cide or Low Ki [nah maybe they know at least him now], really true). Maybe that all is just blah, too... maybe they just need opposition. Those were the best days in Wrestling. The Indy-scene developes, ROH even goes TV - people will still have the choice. ROH 2003 for example.. i just loved it... but i aslo like to see guys like Punk in Dailies, getting well paid.

One addition, WWE is, of course still for kids and younger people, it even was in the attitude era, that's the fallacy people make nowadays.

While it apealed to kids in the attitude era... it dint degrade itself and alienate the adult fanbase. The thing about attitude is that it doesnt conform. Thats practicly the definition of the word itself. Now fans arent allowed to bring semi offensive signs, which any wrestler goer these days will admit, thats half the fun. Back then it was "Ill kick your ass" but now its "I'll hurt you."

"I will make you bleed" is now "Ill make you pay."

This isnt the attitude era but its the same company. It went from hardcore wrestling to an entertainment atraction. To put it simply it went from the seriousness of Japanese deathmatch wrestling to family friendly, kids style, lucha libre with cute costumes and silly show.

Then they have the gall to go on telivision trying to be "in character..." sorry, just had to rant. I will stop now.

BTW, despite what I said, Austin is a legend and needs to be in the HOF. To deny him this just because of a leak? Thats moronic.

they also say Vince is a horse's ass. so he runs a successful business for kids and hick's that have no clue about better federations but then again no one is willing to see a good live show in there back yard. i am a hardcore fan and after WWE dropped there hardcore belt and went more PG i stopped wasting my time.

AUSTIN SHOULD TOTALLY BE INDUCTED TO THE HALL OF FAME. EVERYBODY LOVED HIM. FOR THAT MATTER, THE ROCK SHOULD ALSO BE INDUCTED INTO THE HALL OF FAME.

I AGREE WITH COMMENT #12 BY DEVIL D. IT IS TOTALLY IRONIC TO EXCLUDE AUSTIN FROM THE HOF BECAUSE OF A LEAK.

If only ratings could go down for a long amount of time WWE may realise that they need change PG ratings. If it was up to me the audiance that i would like to watch WWE would be +16 or even +18 :)!
