Reasoning for Commercial-Free Raw

According to the source, the main reason for the Commercial-Free Raw on Monday is to boost the ratings. The network exec for USA Network wants the network to win the cable rating battle every Monday, so she pitched the idea and the WWE ran with it. Apparently USA is in a neck and neck race with TNT every week and she wants USA to get the edge. The main reason that TNT has been winning the battle the last few weeks is that they broadcast the NBA Finals. Now that they have concluded, it is certainly more likely that USA will overtake them. This makes more work for the Raw creative team, as now they have to work that much harder to put a good enough show in place to gain the necessary viewers.

The creative team shouldn't have to work harder to put on a decnt show. They should be aiming to do just that every week, or are they just trying to put on mediocre cliffhanger storylines each week? It certainly seems that way. Another reason why WWE is going down.

It won't mean much extra work - it'll just be a regular Raw with an extra couple of throwaway matches in to make up for the ad breaks.

Keen Eddie isn't looking so keen. The creative team will have to work harder because a commercial free broadcast means more air time to fill. The creative team had to work harder for the 3 hour Raw to. Keen enough to figure out why?

The NBA finals were only on ABC and they never had a Monday night game. However, I think you meant the NBA play-offs in general, which did broadcast a lot of games in May/June.

Nah, just this one, USA would lose out on a ton of commercial revenue. I'll bet they're going to pull recap BS when there would've been commercials.
