According to the report, there is now a possible reason for Santino Marella being pulled from the Royal Rumble match this sunday because he may be suffering an injury sustained on Monday Night Raw.
Although there is a lot of speculation, this is most likely to be the reason for his exit from the match.
More details as they come to hand.

who cares? I'd bet a lot of money that he wasn't even considered as a candidate to win.

So only the winner should be in the match? You need fillers for the Rumble or its not a Rumble.

Well I didn't think it could be done, but Santino beat his old record of 1 second and was eliminated from this rumble before it even began.

I'd assumed that Santino's absence was a decoy. We all "knew" that the last two were going to be Santino and Batista (yeah obviously we also "knew" that Edge might turn up) and so by not having him in there, the Edge surprise had more weight behind it.
While we're on the subject, I think they could have made more of the opportunist gimmick and had them leave MVP out after the attack and introduce Edge as a "As MVP couldn't make the ring , we have added a 31st entrant".
Still, it worked out okay.
