In an interview to Monday Night Mayhem radio, Charlie Haas spoke about Shelton Benjamin.
Haas responded that he thinks Shelton Benjamin should not renew his contract with WWE. According to Haas, Benjamin is not being utilized well even if he is one of the most talented wrestlers.
Haas' answer read:
"It's either someone doesn't like him in creative or he's just too good of a wrestler, or he just makes things look too good & too easy, or it's just very political. Someone at the time doesn't want him to succeed. They have who they want to push, and he's just not one of them. And it's unfortunate, because he is probably the most God-gifted athlete in sports (pro wrestling & the WWE), but they don't want to utilize that, so it's their loss. That's why I'm begging him not to sign back. He'll probably stay for the money, but he could utilized a lot better elsewhere I'll tell you that."

Indeed most under rated star there, this guy should be in the running for belts, and I mean major titles like the WWE title maybe even the world championship.
OK so he lacks charisma on the microphone, but has more than Randy Robo Voice Orton, but what counts is his ability in the ring. He is awesome to watch and even as a major heel, I would cheer the guy on. It's a shame that he does not get a major push UNLESS he wins money in the bank but I don't think he will. It could be Shelton's turn to shine, he's over with the fans and as said is great to watch in the ring, I'd much rather watch him than guys like Mike Knox and Jack Thwagger.

comment 6 do you even watch wrestling, Ia gree with Barbed wire. Shelton benjamin iw ould ahve to say is the most under used talent in WWE. How can WWE jsutify no talent wrestlers like Batista & Cena holding titles when Benjamin is left on the midcard. It makes no sense to me.

Comment #6 I can tell you're a hideous person because you cannot type.
Shelton Benjamin needs a picture of himself on a shirt, some merchandise to push. That and a win at MiTB will do wonders for him.

I would love to see him win the MITB. This guy has so much talent yet they just waste him.

I have to laugh at anybody who claims Cena is a non-talent. He's pretty damn good in the ring, good enough to make Khali watchable and that takes true talent. Just cus you're part of the bandwagon doesn't mean much.
On Shelton, honestly there is someone in the business backstage that doesn't like him. Otherwise he'd be a permanent US/IC champ. That's all he deserves really though. This is pro-wrestling. You're promos are far more important than your wrestling. And Shelton is dead on the mike. Randy rips him apart on the mike, don't kid yourselves.
If Shelton really wants to step up he needs to start taking acting lessons on the side. Chris Benoit could wrestle better than anybody, he got what? one title reign? William Regal is AMAZING in the ring (when he wants to be) and actually not half bad on the mike, he's just ugly. You gotta have it all in this biz.

comment #4, you must be joking... Shelton doesn't have any credible mic skills what so ever. He may be a good athlete, but it's his mic/promo work that need work. Orton's one of the best in the industry btw

I am increasiningly concerned about people (i am assuming young people) who believe that WWE is the be all and end all of wrestling. It really isn't. It has worked a particular formula very successfully. That doesn't mean that it is the only method that counts. And why do people refer to people going to TNA as WWE rejects but don't refer to CM Punk as a TNA reject or to Triple H as a WCW reject. This whole business was built on having many territories and people switching between companies regularly to keep fueds fresh.

hey Triple H isn't a WCW reject! He did alright back in WCW but his gimmick wasn't appealing so they let him go. He didn't have any scandals there and he's one of the greatest of all times because he had them all. Now his in-ring skills aren't what they used to be so he's sticking to the basics but at least he can entertain us

shelton benjamin is truly under rated he deserves to be a title holder may be not the wwe or the heavyweight because of his mic skills as so many of you pointed out but yea he should be like the top heel or face or something in the us/intercontinental division

shelton benjamin is one if the greatest athletes in the WWE, it’s true mic skills lack and I think he should work on that, he is definitely a title holder, Intercontinental title or the US title (take it off the mizz). He certainly is not ready to hold the WWE or World Heavyweight championship but he has the potential to hold it some day. He really needs a push, he always does something extremely insane in MIB matches. If Shelton doesn’t win MIB this there I can see his time in WWE much shorter and he’ll end up being released from the company. The guy had a crazy match with HBK a few years ago on Raw and is one of the best matches I’ve seen; the guy has the potential to be the main event. I hope he gets the push he truly deserves.

shelton benjamin is truly one of the most gifted athletes that the wwe has to offer, they could put the wwe world title or wwe(2) title on him @ least once or twice. Look @ Sheamus,Jack Swagger and John Morrison, they could give him a major push, He would be much better than Swagger and Sheamus, The WWE did'nt even give Jerry lawler a push for the title back in 93-96, so I hope they'll @ least give a push!!!!!!!
