As you may remember, there were on-line reports of WWE confiscating signs at their events specially those which "attacked" their top faces (sign reading "Cuck Fena" or "Has Been Kid," for example).
It seems that the policy continues in some way as a new report on the matter has appeared on the Internet. Apparently, during last Raw WWE's security took away a sign that said "I'm surrounded by Marks." According to the source, the sign could be seen a couple of times during the show before being taken.

Shouldn't that be "before being taken", Roddy? I mean...seems kind of tough to me to get a sign on TV after it's confiscated. :)
I did see that sign, though.

I remember when going to a wrestling event was about you rooting for whoever u wanted to root for. Free speech is one of the biggest traditions in prowrestling beleive it or not.

But this isn't rooting for anyone, this is willfully going against the whole willful disbelief bit and spitting in the face of the product these people are breaking themselves to bring us. So if any of yall are at a wrestling event and you see signs against the faces, start an angry mob and tear the blasphemers apart. Thanks :)

I don't get this!! Just don't show the sign on TV! The fans have a right to root or boo for whoever they want!! They paid for a ticket!!!

Lewis, are you being serious? Obesity is disgusting, but what does it have to do with racism? What do either have to do with being a mark? Do you even know what the term "mark" means? Especially in the wrestling businesss?

I don't see the problem with that sign. A subtle dig at the guys peers, but how is it bad for the WWE?

^^^ A "mark" is someone who believes wrestling is real and is, more or less, the WWE's target audience. The WWE tries, to an extent, to pass itself off as real, so the existence of marks, as opposed to regular fans, is detrimental to their image. (Someone who knows it's fake and loves it anyway is a little different, that's called a "smark" or "smart mark", but "mark" on its own is kind of offensive to some fans, or at least anyone who ever thought it was real.)
I would have left the sign because it was funny, if I were in charge of security for that event, but from the event security point of view, I see why they did. *shrug*

When there are signs like "Edge sucks" or "Snitsky needs to brush his teeth" it is O.K, but when they badmouth a face it is bad

Why not bad mouth a face if you don't like him? Again why worry about a sign that says 'I'm surrounded by marks'? Someones either having a joke with the fans at home, or excersizing their right to free speech, which I believe is the U.S.A's first ammendment? If someone took away a sign of mine, then I'd excersize a right, the right to stay away from any more W.W.E shows
