Scott Steiner's back is causing him some serious pain, so bad that after a 10 minute match he couldn't pick up a napkin he dropped. He has to stretch for an hour before his match to reduce the pain. He had told friends that he doesn't want to appear on camera if he looks injured. He was once in so much pain that he couldn't do any flat-back bumps and instead fall to his side or his knees, and explain after to the wrestlers that he wasn't trying to no-sell their moves but was in serious pain with his back.
Their is lots of pressure on him to retire due to his condition. He is still financially set from his WCW days and real estate ventures with his brother. The loss of Steiner would be a major blow to TNA.

Dammit, he's actually been in decent form lately, and has been shutting up some of the smark heat against him. If he's that badly hurt though, much as I personally enjoy some of his work and've been looking forward to his next Petey Williams fued, TNA can go on without him hanging onto the fringes. He's in a relatively disposable position at the moment, and it seems TNA's been keeping him in positions like that for some time now...

Looks like MEM is self destructing from the inside first Nash now Steiner. Not that this should come as any surprise considering they are the most injury prone athletes in the business today
