During most of the beatdowns by the Main Event Mafia, the TNA World Champion Sting has been conspicuously absent. The reason for this is twofold.
Firstly, they want Sting to come across as the leader of the pack who doesn't need to get his hands dirty. The inspiration for this apparently comes from "The Godfather" where Marlon Brando's titular character was never physically involved in any of his family's "work".
Secondly, they want to have a reason for Sting to turn, and not getting involved in the beatdowns is a good basis for that.

The problem with the Godfather type idea is that they aren't portraying Sting as a 'godfather' of the group. He needs more backstage segments where everyone is around him as the main figure then have him give out orders to Angle who then leads the henchmen.

Yeah, Angle definitely seems like the leader, if there even is one. He does most of the talking. I just hope they don't drag this out too long, cause its going to bury the young guys if they do. And Kevin Nash better have his jobbing boots on.
