Jonathan Coachman had to take a public punishment for disobeying one of Vince McMahon's rules. During the tapings of the match between Undertaker and Zack Ryder, the match went to the outside, and the Undertaker was brawling near the announcer's table. Announcers are instructed to run away when the Undertaker is fighting near them, but Coach just stayed seated. When the show was over, Coach was brought back to the ring where he had to take several finishers from multiple Smackdown superstars including Batista, the Undertaker and Finlay.

Well, I find it also a rather weird punishment, but I think it was mainly used as a humiliation. I mean, I've heard of wrestlers being punished by having to take "pre-show" bumps in indies etc. I'm sure none of the superstars went all out on their finisher, but just used it as in training/sparring. However you're right, what if something would have happened to coach and he got a serious injury (after all, he's no superstar).

Yeah right, this cannot be true. After the MSG incident, HHH was punished to do jobs for a long time, but this is just crazy. Batista bomb, Chokeslam or Tombstone, Celtic Cross on Coach? I cannot imagine

Well, I've searched more on this news for the past 30 minutes, and I've found multiple sites reporting about it, a few even saying it comes from Meltzer's WON (of course, it's not that hard to start a gossip on the web). One fan denied that this took place and claims to have been there, so I don't know what to think about it. If I find an update on it (whether it was a rumour, BS story or truth) I'll update the article too.

I think a fine is more usual. Maybe the corporation could do with a holiday, lols. Props to coach - he's taken a ton of moves over the years, and plays a character nobody likes, and plays it with style. And he's been there a long time too. Weird that he forgot to cower when Taker went by. But eh, anyone can have off days. Whoever thought up the punishment was probably having an off day too!

its a strange punishment i thought hes punishment was being on smackdown because of somethink he did on raw and now vince cant think of a better punishment like moving him to ecw just make him take a few finishers they need practice
