The Great Khali News

The Great Khali, apart from being a WWE superstar, is also an assistant sub inspector for the Punjab Police (Indian police force).

It is reported that Khali has been suspended from work because he took "unauthorised leave" from his duties.

The WWE giant filed for five years of leave from his police force duty on "extraordinary circumstances" last December.

A Commandant of the 7th Batallion of Punjab Armed Police named Arunpal Singh, confirmed the news of Khali's suspension on DNAIndia.com because he (Khali) was not entitled to additional leave. Thus, on failing to attend to his duty, he was officially suspended.

When concerning WWE appearances, The Great Khali is not taking part in matches to heal from a knee injury which was followed by surgery. This injury was caused by Kane in a match that WWE planned so that Kane's assault with the steel ring steps could be a cover for the time off that Khali needed for the surgery.

During his time off, Khali appeared again in ring for the RAW's Got Talent segment during Raw's episode aired on the 2nd of November this year accompanied by Ranjin Singh (his interpreter), the guest host heavy metal star Ozzy Osbourne and the latter's wife Sharon, as a judge.

   Thanks for making more sense of the Khali info, MVD. I thought the inspector job of his was inspecting buildings or something. But I don't think Wikipedia is a reliable source...

   F5, The story was taken from the other source. Used wikipedia for general info on Khali (eg. the date he appeared on RAW, and info on the police dept.)

   Well done. The original confusion came from the lack of knowledge of what a sub inspector (despite my character name, I'm not of Indian origin) does and this version of events makes far more sense.
   I know people do this more for the love of it than the pay, so thanks for investing the time in us to put this straight
