Jerry "The King" Lawler recently ran for Mayor of Memphis, Tenn. He had a lot of support it seemed from early projections but ended up in fifth place in the final votings. He only received about 4,000 votes and that being only 4% of the vote. Not a good showing for the Memphis native.
Rumor has it he will continue to try and run for Mayor in the future, but for now it looks like his job is safe as commentator again.

Eddie, do you think about damn near everyone in Memphis doesn't know who Lawler is? Who cares about everywhere else in the country/world cause they don't vote for the mayor of Memphis. In Memphis, I'd say at least half of the population there knows of Lawler (most of whom are old school fans and voters and not kids who watch todays WWE crap).

The fact that the only people who recognize Lawler for his awesomness are the wwe fans doesn't surprise me that he lost the election.
