During a video clip promoting the Slammiversary travel package, announcers Mike Tenay and Don West take a cheap shot at World Wrestling Entertainment, believing they don’t embrace the fans like TNA does.
Without mentioning World Wrestling Entertainment by name, they say “the competition” holds a pretty big event around April every year and they wanted to keep the wrestlers away from the fans in Houston.
“Do you think they stayed 45 miles away from Houston because it was more convenient for the wrestlers?” said Tenay.
West replied, “Well, they stayed because it was more convenient for the wrestlers to stay away from the fans. What do we do? We stay WITH THE FANS!”

TNA's very vocal about WWE, and their folks flip between speaking "in character" about it (i.e. WWE sucks and we're better) and talking on their individual and professional thoughts about it (like when they admit, yeah, WWE draws in revenue like we couldn't dream and we wouldn't be here without em). TNA's done a very good job drawing controversy on the subject while still maintaining professionalism.

Let TNA talk all the crap they want. The fact is they will never be competition for the WWE and if by some miracle they ever came close to being competition they would just be bought out.

WWE knows that they can't compete with them, and probably don't want another RAW is WAR show (I know I do though)

TNA seem to take jabs at WWE whenever they get a chance cuz the crowd probably likes it. It seems that many TNA fans turn to TNA because of their dissatisfaction with WWE. I don't like it though, it seems kinda pathetic because it makes it seem like they are trying to measure up to WWE.
On the other hand WWE would be reminding its audience that there is another wrestling company around so they avoid it I guess.

Even if it is true, WWE has never said anything bad about TNA...

maybe it is a cheap shot at WWE, but remember it is WWE that ban its wrestlers from being seen with anyone from TNA or going to their shows. That seems pathetic to me as everyone knows the wrestlers are characters and have real lives and are often friends with the people they are ment to hate on screen. If Tna means so little to WWE like they claim then why the big fuss about their wrestlers being seen together outside of work? Wasnt it WWE that banned all their wrestlers from visiting TNA Wrestlers on wrestlemania weekend in florida? A ban that had they followed it would have ment Edge and Cristian 2 friends since school from being allowed to catch up all because Cristian was in TNA. Knock TNA all you want but remember WWE are just as petty they just dont do it on screen they do it backstage to their own wrestlers

I watch and record 10 hours of American wrestling a week. Quality wrestling is only found on TNA. Unfortuntely, it drowned out by the b.s., but WWE has as much if not more b.s. and very few mtches to compensate for it. The best WWE product on tv was OVW in my area. With it no longer a WWE product, I no longer see good matches on WWE programming. Sure Punk won the title but his classic matches in OVW were greater than anything he has done since getting called up. TNA isn't perfect. But with great international talent like Doug Williams, Kyoshi, No Limit and LAX, TNA has a better young roster than WWE. WWE has good young talent but they are all used to job to Batista, John Cena and Kozlov. How can you see the potential of these superstars when they are being destroyed to make some sloppy worker look good?

It is ironic in the news they post the 'shots' TNA are taking at WWE, yet their is not ONE news report of the 3 shots WWE took at the Denver Nuggets on Raw last night. The only one I remember word for word was 'Vickie runs her GM position similar to the manager of the Denver Nuggets. Dubious.'

Too bad TNA hardly has 1/10 of the fans WWE has then, hanging around in trailer parks is not really WWE style.

My opinion is that Dixie Carter is a smart entrepeneur and a bussinesswoman managing wrestling and that she lives by her business based on it, but she does no know is that their employees like MikeTenay and Don West insuling and talking crap of WWE and VinceMcMahon: a fact that Vince McMahon and WWE are a solid sports wrestling power that cannot be couped not even by TNA, that affects Dixie Carter in her bussiness by her lack of knowledge of wrestling. Vince McMahon is way to solid in the face of the earth on the side of TNA; TNA only reaches to WWE ankles...
