Reports have stated that THQ bought Midway Games' San Diego studio. This studio was the one which produced the first TNA iMPACT! video game. It was reported that when the studio was bought, it even included the rights for the TNA video game, but THQ have expressed no interest in producing a sequel to the game. However, it is now revealed that THQ did not buy the rights to the game along with the studio. So now, the TNA Video game franchise is without a developer.
THQ tells the Torch: "We are not purchasing the rights to the TNA Impact game. That is specifically exclude from the agreement."

THQ already churns out one crappy wrestling game a year. Last thing we need is another.

Why sign a deal with TNA when they already have a deal with WWE? Imagine how Vince would react if THQ made games for WWE and TNA and the TNA game had more success? It's not worth the headache.

I wonder if WWE had anything to do with that.
TNA Impact had major potential that ultimately fell short on its first attempt. However it had the best video game animation for a wrestling game, the moves were all sold so well by the game mechanics, and the graphics were amazing. I think this is a video gaming tragedy IMO.

I hate midway the only game franchise they every did right was the Mortal Kombat series and thats it. If THQ can't develop TNA games Then maybe Midway should give the rights to EA Sports because EA sports made Def Jam 1 and 2 pretty good wrestling games.

Of course WWE had something to do with it. That's like saying, "I wonder if the sky is blue", "I wonder if water is wet".
