Top WWE Star Seriously Injured - Expected To Miss Major Time (Updated)

Reports are coming in that at last night's WWE House show in San Diego, One half of the Unified WWE Tag Team Champions, Edge seriously injured his ankle and is expected to miss nearly a year.

 

The match had started and barely went for 5 minutes before Edge went to charge at Jeff Hardy but his ankle gave out and the match was immediately ended. As EMT's attended to Edge he got on the mic and apologized to the fans.

 

The injury sustained is a torn Achilles heel Tendon. Which is quite serious. Ironically this is the 3rd event in San Diego that has caused an injury to a WWE Star.

  • Edge (Torn Achilles Tendon)
  • Evan Bourne (Ankle Injury)
  • Randy Orton (Broken Collar Bone)


There are now plans to get the titles off of Jericho and Edge and get them on Legacy. The only problem is they have pre taped the next 2 weeks of programming. There are plans inside WWE to look for a spot in the Edge Vs Khali Match at next week's show to say he injured it there.

Update 1

Edge is expected to undergo surgery to repair the tendon, he is expected to miss 8 months to a year, the expected return date at the moment looks to be March 2010 in time for a possible Wrestlemania return.

    WWE just died a little inside.

    I'm going to have a very hard time really loving their programming with HBK and Edge both out at the moment.

    Hopefully this gives Punk some room to develop into the top heel on the show. Okay, the top MORTAL heel on the show, as Jericho is really in the God class right now.

    YES finally edge the Rated R superstar is finally injured the day of peace and happiness is apon us i cant belive this is happening go hardy go hardy way to tear his tendon yaaaa whoooo hooooo this is one of the best moments of my life now we just need jericho injured because lets face it does anyone enjoy listening to him talk hes got that im better then the whole world cus i got a god narcissit complex and all of this stupid stuff that falls out of his mouth and if he can get CM punk to forfeit the Stolen world championship thats what i say stolen cus i dont think punk earned the title he stole it at extreme rules and he stole it and the bash i think he should give it to its rightful owner jeff hardy thats what i think im just saying

    Trimack, please see a pshychiatrist. You do realise Edge & Jericho play characters in WWE? There are writers who write what happens, including the bad guys robbing the good guys. In reality, it isn't robbing, because it was decided that they should win instead of the good guys, so the good guys can come back and get the final win.
    Edge & Jericho are meant to be bad guys, whingers and sore losers. The characters they are playing are still less retarded than you, going by your comments just now.

    Trimack - have you heard of punctuation or spelling? Your post is really hard to read. If it was written properly, I only would have wasted 5 seconds of my life, not 30.
    A torn achilles tendon is a horrible & painful inury, I can't believe that any normal person with an IQ over 60 would wish such a thing onto someone else, but going by the way you wrote your post, I doubt your IQ is very high.

    Trimack, you are plain stupid. Wishing that someone injures himself should be rewarded with an injury of your own. You don´t wish for injuries no matter how much you dislike someone. But after all, it´s just a TV Show. How can you say that he deserves his injury? You only know the character that he plays in WWE. But it´s not the character that is injured, it´s Adam Copeland.     This sucks, Edge is my favourite wrestler, I like his wrestling style, his mic skills, everything about him. I just wonder what's going to happen with the tag team belts now and what's going to happen with Chirs Jericho... I did hear he's suppose to have a feud with Taker when Taker comes back... maybe.

    No i am dead freaking serious i have the autograph and the video tape to prove it and heres what killed me i went back to the signing booth to get triple H's autograph and edge was sitting there taking pictures of people and signing shirts in a happy go lucky mood when he saw me he just had a mean look in his face then i walked way when i turned back he was still in his happy go lucky mood thats why i hate him because he hates me ok im not a dumbass im not a liar i know what i saw you wernt there you dident see the look he gave me thats why i hate him call me what you want you wernt there you dident see him you dont know

    #9 how much of a liar can you be? you probably sprained your ankle or something because an achilles tendon is known for being career ending. either you're a huge liar or your injury was far from severe because you can lose the ability to walk with this injury
