Recently, Vince McMahon has been furious with the lack of stars that the WWE is producing. It is reported that he has openly expressed his anger during recent creative meetings and he says that WWE really needs more main event talent. Strangely enough, he then creates the concept of having a guest host, which focuses all the attention on the non-wrestling personalities instead.

WWE really need new main event talents, alot of people already tired of seeing superstars like John Cena, HHH, CM Punk...etc hogging all the title shots.

Not easy making new stars when the old ones bury the up and comers.

if HHH, Cena and Orton were not trading the title between them on raw vince may get new stars at the top. The beat the clock challenge was a great chance to get someone new to the top but he goes with old, boring Cena instead.

Would Evan Bourne have been the #1 contender if he'd been one of the 5 in the Beat the Clock challenge? He did seem to beat Swagger pretty early, they should have given him the shot instead... him and Orton had a pretty decent match when he first arrived

Perhaps it's down to the fact WWE rarely listen to the public, and that any decent star in the making is rushed into it, then splattered when things don't work out.
WWE are trying to find a new Brock, someone they can hurry. But, if they recall, Brock was a heel who was unstoppable. Their heels now are dropped by Cena, etc, and undervalued.

Their own damn fault for ruining the pushes of MVP, Bourne, Miz, hell, even Kendrick was looking decent as a fringe main eventer on Smackdown for a bit.
