Will there be a World X Cup this year?

According to the source, not much has been mentioned backstage at TNA regarding having a World X Cup this year. Assembling all the teams together seems to be getting tougher nowadays due to weak communication with international promotions. It was said last year that TNA and CMLL had an agreement for CMLL to hold the X Cup and then show it on Impact at a later date. But apparently CMLL has not been utilizing TNA stars as of late so ties seem to be pretty much off there. Another rumor is that they would try to come to a similar agreement with AAA for the tournament, but since Konnan is in AAA, that would probably fall through.

So as of right now, don't expect to see a World X Cup Tournament in 2009.

   Thats a shame, the X cup is my favorite TNA stuff, they hold some of the best matches on it.

   The X cup was an incredible idea, it was TNA not only saying "we're not the best, we're not the only ones, we admit it and'll point out these other folks for you" but it was TNA giving us tremendous matches to do it. The past 2 years however it hasn't been ... well hell it's kinda sucked. I hope TNA brings back these ties soon, otherwise not only will these other folks lose valuable marketing but those of us who only watch the big American promotions'll miss out on these guys floating around on the outside.
