As part of his recent interview Desmond Wolfe has told the UK Sun how he got his new name in TNA and about his debut against Kurt Angle this past week.
On His New Name.
"Everyone is asking me where I got the name from - someone said Withnail and I - but Vince Russo said he did an internet search of the most popular British names and came up with Desmond Wolfe!"
On His Debut.
"Who gets the opportunity to come in on their first day and beat up Angle, I mean that's huge! Kurt has been great, just like everyone else - he's really open to ideas."

Why is TNA changing names? Hopefully they're not going to get like WWE and start "owning" their wrestlers. If someone has an indy background with a strong following, they should be able to keep their name.

Exactly, #2. And now, if they ever choose to leave TNA because of the hectic landscape that it can be and go back to the indies they can take their names and gimmicks with em, no strings attached.
