The recent volcanic ash cloud over Europe led to the cancellation of many flights. For this reason, WWE had to cancel the SmackDown shows planned for Innsbruck, Austria and Istanbul, Turkey this weekend.
The Istanbul show has been rescheduled for November as is hoped for Innsbuck's show.
WWE's statement read:
Due to air traffic disruptions caused by the volcanic ash over Europe, World Wrestling Entertainment has been forced to reschedule the SmackDown live events at the Olympiahalle in Innsbruck on Saturday, April 17, as well as the Abdi Ipekci Arena in Istanbul on Sunday, April 18.
While WWE hopes to return to Innsbruck in November, the Istanbul show has been moved to November 2010. More information on the exact rescheduled date will be forthcoming. All tickets purchased for these events will be honoured in November. WWE fans that are unable to attend the rescheduled dates should go to their point of purchase for refunds.
World Wrestling Entertainment would like to thank all of our fans that have purchased tickets for the Innsbruck and Istanbul events, and apologize for the inconvenience.

I heard that when the Undertaker retires, WWE is going to cancel SmackDown and move all of the main eventers over to RAW.

Matt if they did that. 1.It would cost them money. 2. People may not see their favourite star. 3. To hard to fill pay per views and make various storylines. 4. They can't make cards longer because crowds will become restless watching the casual match over and over like Cm Punk vs R Truth

Well the reason they made Smackdown in the first place, was way back during the Monday Nightwars, after WWE won, Vince bought WCW, and cancelled it. Leaving no competion, and thus made it kinda boaring. So They made smackdown to make it so they had someone to fight against. Which is why you see the survior series macthes, where it would be smackdown verses raw.

Smackdown was created before the Invasion was even on Vinces mind. It was a PPV that was brought in as a full time weekly episode. The idea for the PPV/Weekly, came from one of The Rocks catch-phrases.

Also to spread out talent and let people get a chance, without smackdown their would be no Miz, Morrison, Cena,Drew McIntyre, Dolph Ziggler, etc... Also while im going can wwe either bring back the violence or get some much better storylines, enough with the smackdown gm or the raw host, all the host are is an excuse not to try harder in the writing room

but if they canceled smackdown the profit will be less for them as the people pay to see RAW show and if they wanted to see SMACKDOWN show they will pay one more time so if they canceled smackdown they will loss too much money and also there will be no bragging rights

Cancelling Smackdown would cost the WWE money but remember wrestlers are getting hurt HHH, Hardy Eze, to name a few and they are getting rid of a few of them also. Made comment 1 had a point maybe they're doing this to cancel Smackdown and get them back to one show
