According to the source, the WWE is getting to be a bit more lenient with their policy on marijuana. Some stars have resumed smoking marijuana and their status in the company is not changing. A few months ago, when wrestlers were caught with pot, their pushes would be postponed. That was back when the policy was a lot more strict. Now that it has been lightened a bit, wrestlers feel that they are able to resume drug use.

This is good news for all the fans and wrestlers alike. WWE wrestlers are superstars before athletes after all, so they should be able to live the rockstar-life they deserve !

Well...that could end up meaning that we see RVD back again. Or really any of the 20 or so "superstars" that the WWE has let go of due to its drug policy.

Great news. It seems as a society we are slowly being deprogrammed from the years of propaganda telling us the so-called dangers of Marijuana.
Anyone who sees this as bad news is just foolish and doesn't really understand. Alcohol is far worse and far more danagerious to a human than marijuana could ever be.

Natural, you really sound silly saying that.
Wrestling can be pretty dangerous, even when sober. Mitsuhara Misawa's death is proof of that.
If I were a wrestler I would flat-out REFUSE to work with a worker who was under the influence of alcohol or marijuana or any drug for that matter.

Cigs are worse the weed too. Personally don't smoke weed or cigs though.
Mackey, that's naive, prescription drugs are worse far you-and I work in a pharmacy.

I dont think that was the point he was making October raven. I think Natural Causes meant in general, alcohol is far worse on the human body than pot. As far as being impaired in the ring, that's something different all together.

We're not talking about people performing drunk or high here. Look at people who have, they got dropped fast.
Roddy Piper was fairly pissed at the last WM, seen him since?
Overall, booze is far more damaging.

Yeah, this is a good idea. The wrestlers need to be allowed to relax after being forced to entertain 5 year olds

Anybody who isn't sure if "cigs" are worse than "weed" is an idiot, period. No, articially made substances full of rat poison and fiberglass are much healthier than a plant, simply because the government tells you it's legal and pot isn't. Idiots. Wake up and educate yourselves before speaking.

Comment 16...I really hope that was a joke post and you really dont find any of that to be true. Like comment 17 said, drug dealers dont just give you a plant. Do you actually know what is added to it? Some of it is universal. I'd look it up if I were you. And we're the ones that need to be educated?

@Comments 17 & 18: Yeah, that's logical. Aside from the "chemicals" used to grow every other plant, do you really think a drug dealer is going to waste money "lacing" pot?

I wouldn't be surprised if this policy ends up with another situation like Chris Benoit, as long-term use of marijuana has been proven to cause mental illness - especially psychotic illnesses.
Of course, alcohol abuse and abuse of any other drug can cause long term damage, or even death (or long & painful terminal illness)

A lot of ignorance about marijuana use in these comments. I have been doing research grant work since 1992 on a total of 6 projects now involving marijuana use, and thus far, marijuana use has not been proven to be a primary causative factor in any sort of cancer, mental illness, or any other sort of physical OR mental illness in any of our research, and any ills suffered in statistical correlation to marijuana use involve HEAVY marijuana use over a LONG period of time. Occasional marijuana use is completely harmless to adults, FACT. It is also possible (although research is limited to statistical analysis) that marijuana use may retard brain development in persons whose brains are not completely developed (children and teenagers) but no one is advocating childhood marijuana use.

Researcher - I bet you don't personally know a marijuana user who had psychotic episodes after taking it. I do.
I bet te people funding those research projects are not independant, which means they pay the money so the finding will be in their favour.
Also, HEAVY marijuana use means more than once a month - a long period of time being a few years - and most marijuana users use it for most of their lives, as I have seen the addictive effects of it, with many peopel I know moving on to speed, ice (meth) etc.
Also, while marijuana may not always be the primary cause, it can trigger episodes for people who have an underlying problem - even if it has never surfaced before.
However, I don't see a problem with using it for pain relief for terminal patients - if the do end up using it for many years then that's a bonus.
The main point is that like cigarettes, alcohol or other drugs, it is a bad idea if you want to be as healthy as possible, whichi s important if you are a professional athlete
