WWE employee refuses medical help to avoid losing his job

Back to home

The WWE employee that got hit with a bottle over the head at the Great American Bash and bitten in the back is refusing medical help. (see Stealing WWE Chairs for more info on that) The reason why he refused to get medical help on Sunday was that he was afraid to lose his job, reports Newsday.com. He preferred to wait until Monday and get help in the next city, so he could work that night's Raw and not lose his job. The roadie was an independant contractor.

The article also tells us that although the roadie managed to stop both guys that were arrested, the fans dropped the chairs (from an upcoming PPV) and a third guy managed to get away with the chairs eventually.

this shows how mess up the wwe is. they dont let people have time off for sick people in the family or mourn love ones. which is against the law. the wwe is the mafia. but in the mafia you can move up. in the wwe u have to wait for the main events to move out or die.

Well, I just noticed I forgot to add he was an independant contractor, but added in the article (that makes the WWE look a little less monstruous).

Facts are when you are an independant contractor there is no Law. you are hired to do a job. If you are unfit to do the job you are out and the next one brought in. There's Thousands of casual Staff just waiting to work on the show. I myself am part of the casual staff team of WWE. and have toured with them a couple of times when they were in the UK. The days are long, Get ins take a good 8 to 12 hours. get outs a little less. He obviously didnt want to seem unrealiable. and most roadies take the knocks, and get on untill the job is over. WWE's health and safety officer WOULDNT have let him stay on site if it was serious. You have to understand Vince's way of working. You miss an event you are unrealiable. unrealiable means fired, simple. And as said there is Thousands of people lining up to get paid. He wouldnt have got any sick pay as he is not a direct employee of the WWE. he is freelance, his own boss. If you dont work, you dont get paid. you dont get paid you dont pay the rent. you dont pay the rent you're homeless...

If they guy couldnt work he COULD have left the site. However Yes his future calls for the WWE may very well have been hindered if he is deemed unrealiable. The facts are, in the entertainment industry there is always someone that can do your job that will take your job if the time will come. Independant contractors for the WWE are signed on a ZERO hour contract. which means they do NOT gaurentee you work. However when you are one of the lucky ones lucky enough to recieve the call you grasp at it with both hands. Vince and the WWE DOES give its staff time off if they REALLY need it. And tend to, If you are an asset call you back. However if you get lost from the mix it is DAMN hard to get back in. Again i stress if you dont work you dont get paid if you dont get paid you cant pay your rent. if you cant pay your rent you're homeless. So, YES like every other Casual Employee of any organisation you DO fear that you wont work again. The news story is Blown well out of proportion. As i said if the health and safety officer didnt think he could continue he would have been forced off site. WWE dont FORCE you to work they offer you work. and to be fair with the casual list being so long when you are offered the work you lap it up.
