Listen up you noobs...The Iron Sheik ushered in the "Hogan Era" as you know it...Before that it was Bob Backlund dominating the WWF Belt for like 5 YEARS!!!

Iron Sheik was overrated. But then again, wrestling sucked until Austin anyway, even though all the old farts like to sit around and talk about how great the old timers were.

The Iron Sheik wrestled for his native Iran in the olympics and was and is there Kurt Angle...He DEFECTED to our side and helped train our Olympic wrestlers...He was a good pro wrestler but even greater heel...and definatly not overated like your precious Austin in all facets execpt "mic skills" Austin had a great gimmick but he also had the biggest "push" since Hulk Hogan shoved Bob Backlund out of the picture in the early 80's...#8

comment 13 is 100% correct. Steve austen proved that being a foulmouthed drunkard and a redneck only capable of punching and botching a cutter was the best thing for wrestling in the nineties. I'm glad we'll never see him compete again and hopefully the newer generation of stars will bring back a thing we used to have back in the good old days called quality.
