According to Dave Meltzer, WWE officials were calling Jeff Hardy as late as 1/5 and were trying to get him to change his mind about joining TNA. Not only was this the day after Hardy appeared on Impact, but also a day after he was indicted on drug charges.
It's an interesting situation because it shows that WWE is softening their stance on the company's drug policy. It says a lot about both WWE and TNA since there was such strong interest in Hardy despite news of his indictment coming out.

I think Jeff needs to come back to the WWE and get a heavyweight title or WWE title. I wouldn't mind seeing Jeff Hardy vs Sheamus or Jeff Hardy vs Randy Orton at Backlash or something like that.

WWE is just tring to pervent TNA from getting him, Jeff is still on the of the merch sellers even after he left the company. If he is under WWE contract even if inactive TNA would lose out and it scares McMahon deeply.

The WWE is not softening it's policy on drug use. All they want is that guy who sells a lot of T-shirts.

Look im sick of mr mcmahon killing wwe. He ruined ECW he ruined the attitude era basiclly he ruins everything. Tna is the new wwe we all want to watch it and screw wwe. Jeff is better off at tna , than at that lame wwe. Jeff has potential and all wwe will do is ruin that potential. Jeff go to TNA! u know its the right thing to do.
