WWE Superstars and Politicians
The Bleacher Report have posted an article comparing some WWE Superstars with past and present politicians.
Here's a summary of what you'll find by searching on the source:
- The Rock / Barrack Obama: Their fast increase in terms of popularity
- Shawn Michaels / Mike Huckabee: Religious beliefs (both being Evangelical Christians)
- Vince McMahon / George W. Bush: Surpassing their fathers' success and controversies
- Batista / John Edwards: Cheating their wives while they were suffering from cancer
- John McCain / Triple H: Their "backstage" connections sometimes don't let people see their talent and hard work
- Edge / John Kerry: Their square jaw; marrying famous widows (although Edge's marriage with Vickie is not for real)
- Undertaker / Ralph Nader: The countless resurrections
- Santino Marella / Rudy Guliani: Italian roots; claiming being great but not being it at all
- Hornswoggle / Ross Perot: (you better google an image of him)
- Ric Flair / Bill Clinton: Their legacies being greater than their mistakes

Let's add a few more:
Hulk Hogan/Ronald Reagan: Both ushered in an era that continues to be a positive influence to this day (though with some debate regarding it).
Festus/Jimmy Carter: Neither can do anything alone, but have their niches when the bell tolls.

now that i saw your comment, i'd like someone who speaks English as their 1st language to tell me the difference (in usage) between "ring" "chime" and "toll" please. i'm not mocking on Koj (just in case he had made a mistake)

Toll is a peel of a bell in order to signify something - it marks some kind of event or happening. Chime usually refers to the creation of a pleasant or deliberately-tuned sound. Ring is a general word but unlike peel can also mean the sound of telephones or bicycle-style 'bells'. Peel and toll are specific to bells. Toll has a seperate meaning of a tax for travelling past a point or across something (usually a bridge or area of water).

Never knew that about Batista. I was puzzled about whether or not to respect him but now I know for sure not to.

Thanks, Jane Ross. I had been taught that a "toll" had something to do specially with funeral rites, it seems it was mistaken

and for the batista thing. will you believe me if i say that on the hispanic edition of WWE, the commentators praised batista for being a devoted husband taking care of his ill wife. obviously, when the "incident" was made public, they didn't have a word for it
