The reason behind the finish in the Undertaker/Big Show match last night (Big Show won via knockout) is because WWE is trying to give their matches a more realistic feeling. Rumors have been going around behind the scenes about having sudden knockouts and MMA-like match endings like this for a while and it appears we got a little taste of it last night. Like everything else they do, WWE will decide if they go with the endings like this again depending on how the fans react to it.
Personally I think it was a little silly to make the Undertaker the guinea pig for this ending considering the "invincibility" of his character and how he sits right up at times, it's almost not realistic that the Undertaker got knocked out.

I had a feeling they'd try this format, had been waiting on them for over a year. Vince decided to try a format we used over a year ago.

I like the variance. It's more interesting when some wrestlers (and I believe it should be to do with gimmick which ones they are) can get a sudden win sometimes. I liked that Taker lost, it was quite unexpected, and it was done well. And it's not like Taker looked weak or anything, he still looked strong. But the 'drunkenness' afterwards was a little over-played, I'll just say that.

Hm, seemed like they should have tested this out on someone other than 'Taker considering his resilient character, at the same time if they're going for realism then the first person that needs to be brought down to earth would probably be the man with an undead character.
Good choice on Big Show to deliver the knock out, though.

If people wanted to watch MMA, they would watch MMA....not WWE. When is the wrestling business going to understand this? Probably never. "Pro" wrestling is dead.
