Ric Flair has denied the invitation to attend the NWA Hall of Fame. The NWA is honouring some of its most important superstars at this ceremony, and of course Flair could not be overlooked. There were two theories on why Flair wouldn't show up. One theory assumed Flair would just ask way too much to appear on the Hall of Fame ceremony, the other theory assumed WWE forbid him to attend it. NWA has now confirmed it is the latter. The Hall of Fame is being taped, and WWE fears it will be released onto a DVD later on. As some of you may know, WWE superstars are not allowed to appear on DVD's from other companies as long as they're under contract with them. They can appear, but WWE has to approve it first.
NWA said in the message Ric Flair really wanted to join the ceremony, and once again thank his fans for the great career he had, but WWE won't let him. NWA regrets it because Flair was a major player with them, long before WWE was anything more than a regional promotion. NWA will still induct him in their Hall of Fame nonetheless, because they feel Flair deserves the honour.

Man... WWE are such babies about this stuff. It's like Vince wants us to live in a pretend world where the only Wrestling in existence is WWE.

Flair was huge before he was in WWE. Honestly, the WWE is a falling empire that is trying to hold onto its hold with the last bits of strength it has.
Last time the WWE went to hell, they had WCW to bring them back to the top. TNA is a rather weak promotion, at best. They are not strong enough competition to make the WWE keep on the top of their game. WWE needs competition to drive them further. With no strong competition, WWE will fall asleep at the wheel, and crash and burn.

WWE are babies about this. What POSSIBLE bad thing could happen from WWE letting Flair attend this ceremony? Nothing at all.
