It's been reported that the idea of revealing Christian as the person behind the attacks on Jeff Hardy was brought by Michael Hayes and it was supposed to take place at the Royal Rumble. It was Hayes himself who changed the plans giving Matt the spot due to the continuous leakings on the Internet.
Apparently, as the talks for giving him a new role started to delay his debut, Vince started to have bad feelings towards Christian. Something similar had happened back in 2005 when Vince stoped any plans regarding him since he saw Cage as nothing but an upper mid-carder.
Brian Getwirtz, who works on the Raw brand, had also plans for Christian but they were dismissed since there was a feeling that Cage could end up like D'Lo Brown.
The idea of putting him in a feud with Swagger was brought by the writers precisely because Vince is high on the All-American American. However, the program included segments showing Christian meeting the Superstars and creating the feeling that it was a big deal that he had come back. McMahon dropped the idea, as well as some endings for the matches between Cage and Swagger, and the feud ended up as it has been shown.

Christian ins't a ''upper mid-carder'' in my view. He can wrestle and cut a promo unlike Swagger!

And this is why ECW started off with a video package of Christian making his grand redebut and the fans shaking the arena cheering... and then Swagger decimating him? It was a very even match, and Christian looked really good in it, even to true marks that was kinda insulting.

"even" you must be joking Swagger has no skills Christian carried him. i said it once and will say it again he committed carer suicide when he singed that contract he should have stayed in TNA or went to ROH.

Just as we all thought, Christian was just hired so TNA couldn't have him, but won't be given the chance he really deserves. I actually like his segment with Swagger, IF they really gave a damn about either of them or ECW. Should have stayed in TNA but then again, they have their own problems. Wrestling really sucks right now. :(

I wouldn't expect anything big to happen to christian. Here my prediction. He will feud with swagger for a couple months never winning the title then it's back to midcard feuding with nobodys. Until his contract expires then TNA will hire him back.

swagger's still learning, but the guy's got a lot of potential, and aside from that lisp i don't really see much wrong with the guy. so i do not get this swagger hate.

Christian is not a stupid man.He would not have signed a contract with the wwe without getting atleast one title REIGN.

He signed for the money period. WWE offered him more than TNA as far as a title reign maybe as a tagteam champ or IC/US champ but I don't see the WWE giving him a world champ belt. THat would be sending a message to everyone in the locker room that there free to leave when there contract expires and if they want to come back they will be rewarded with a better spot on the roster than before they left. considering that doesn't make much sense business wise don't hold your breath on seeing Christian with one of the 3 world belts anytime soon if ever. I'm not tryin to insult any of his fans i'm just being realistic.
