Sinister Minister’s Thoughts X

By | 14 January 2014

Welcome to another addition of Sinister’s Thoughts. As usual, this is usually about Raw and it is again.  I watched Raw this week and here are my thoughts on what happened during Raw.  There will be spoilers so if you have not watched it; you might not want to read this.  Interesting fact, I had a friend that was at this Raw and I am extremely jealous of him.

Kick-off:  This was actually the perfect way to kick off Raw.  The Daniel Bryan and The Wyatt Family saga is the best storyline that WWE has going for it.  Raw then starts with The Usos in the ring followed by The Wyatt family and Daniel Bryan down to the ring.  I was pleasantly surprised when I saw that this would be the first match of the night.

Match: Daniel Bryan and Bray Wyatt vs. The Usos: I really enjoyed this match and the crowd was hot for it the entire match.  The match was a great match.  I love the Usos as a tag team and I don’t think they will ever be anything more than a tag team.  I think Jimmy Uso could possibly grow to be more, but I don’t see him as a main eventer any time soon.  A great match was ruined by a DQ finish and I absolutely hated it.  I don’t understand what they are doing to this angle.

Match: John Cena vs. Damien Sandow: Holy crap, we have another huge match right at the beginning of the night?  This I believe was the match of the night in my opinion and I really hope they quit screwing around with Damien Sandow and keep putting him with main event players.  This was one of Cena’s better matches that I’ve seen from him in a long time.  I actually believe I saw a move or two from Cena that I have never seen before.

Segment: WWE Network:  Can’t wait.  I’ll take a risk at streaming quality for 9.99 for one month.

Segment: Kane/Brad Maddox: Hate Brad Maddox, but that is what he is there for.  Booking Bray and Daniel vs the Usos in a cage is a brilliant move.  Raw is looking strong.

Match: Big Show vs. Jack Swagger:  This was a squash match and nothing more.  They are putting over Show to look strong.  I still don’t think he will beat Lesnar.

Match: The Shield vs. CM Punk, Road Dogg and Billy Gunn:  Are you serious?  What is WWE doing to me tonight?  Are they trying to make me a happy man?  I can’t believe it.  This was actually another good match by these two with the unexpected swerve of the New Age Outlaws not taking Punk’s tag and walking to the back.  NAO with the authority?  This could get interesting.  Reigns getting the win was the right call.

Editor’s note:  I’m not sure, but I’m pretty sure that the crowd was chanting you can’t wrestle to Rollins.  Are they blind?

Segment: The Wyatt Family and Daniel Bryan:  Not bad, anything with the Bray Wyatt talking is gold so far.

Match: AJ Lee and Tamina Snuka: Short match, which was below my standards for a AJ Lee match.  Snooze fest.

Segment: Randy Orton and Kane: They’ve been making Orton look like a scared punk and this angled helped further that along.  I still think he will win at Royal Rumble.

Segment: HOF Announcement: Ultimate Warrior!!!!  Long overdue.  I loved this.

Match: Kofi Kingston vs. Randy Orton:  This actually wasn’t a bad match and I was surprised that Kofi Kingston got a clean win over Randy Orton right now.  It makes me question whether he will actually beat Cena at Royal Rumble.  I think he has too though, it would further along the story line.  I think it has to be Daniel Bryan to take that title away from Orton.  Him attacking Cena’s father was foreseen and cheap heat.  WWE could have done better.

Match: Cody Rhodes and Goldust vs. Ryback and Curtis Axel: Average match that I had to suffer through because of Ryback.  I wish his tweets about being done and gone from WWE were true.

Match: Rey Mysterio vs. Alberto Del Rio:  Boring match in my opinion.  I’m more interested in Alberto Del Rio and Batista which they furthered by the promo that ADR did.

Segment: Punk and Kane: This and the NAO walking out on CM Punk is setting up Punk vs. Triple H at Wrestlemania and I am very excited about it.  Punk better go over HHH.  I still can’t believe Punk lost to HHH in the summer that he was hot as hell.  There would be no reason for HHH to beat Punk at Wrestlemania.

Match: Steel Cage Match: The Usos vs. Daniel Bryan and Bray Wyatt:  This was a brilliant match.  I personally think this was the second best match of the night.  The crowd was hot and the wrestling was top notch.  Daniel Bryan turning on Bray Wyatt after the loss was not expected and I’m disappointed in it.  I thought there would have been so much more to that storyline.  I think they completely screwed it up.  The crowd was so hot for Daniel Bryan at the end though.  It reminded me of the Attitude Era and Austin.  While I didn’t like the angle ending like that, I have to say that I had goosebumps the entire time.  It was awesome, but could have been done later.

Overall, this Raw was better than last week’s Raw and one of the best Raws in a long time.  I solidly give this Raw an A.  If there is a replay, I’d watch it, you will be entertained. Questions, comments, or input either reply below or send me a message in game.  Until next time…
