Hello ladies and gentlemen and welcome to yet another exciting edition of Highland View, I hope you enjoy yourself. As is the case I shall be continuing my “rise and fall” series where I look at the careers of certain ‘controversial’ wrestlers. This week we shall be looking at none other than Evan Bourne! Yes the high flying guy who recently got suspended has made his way onto the Highland View. Enough blabbering, let’s get to it!

The Start
Now as some of you may or may not know Evan Bourne (Matt/Lance Sydal back then) started off in indy promotions, which is very common for the majority of WWE superstars. Now I am not going to go into all the nitty gritty of which promotions he was in and so on. However, I can tell you that Evan faced guys such as AJ Styles, Tyler Black (Seth Rollins) and some little known guy called CM Punk! Not bad for some indy wrestling promotions eh?

After his time in various indy promotions Evan made his way to TNA, to try and make a name for himself. Well he didn’t really do that to say the least. He basically jobbed his socks off for a year, then got fed up and moved on from TNA. Sounds like something Drew McIntyre should do, oh wait he’s the future of the WWE isn’t he Vince? (More of this rant will come later)

ROH time!
As a lot of the great wrestlers have done (such as CM Punk, Daniel Bryan-->interesting how both are main event champions eh?) Evan tested himself in Ring of Honour. Now I am not a huge indy wrestling fan but even I know that ROH is the big leagues for the indy guys.  Now Evan mainly tagged during his time in ROH, trying to win the ROH tag titles with various people, like Samoa Joe and AJ Styles.  After this he finally won the tag titles with Christopher Daniels (man Evan likes to stay in the big leagues) and defended them a few times. Then when WWE, along with Dragon’s Gate and TNA, came knocking Evan decided he had to take his chance before someone else did and moved onto bigger and better things.

Welcome to the big leagues
Evan did what I would say many wrestlers dream to do, become a WWE superstar. Now what is great, sometimes, about the WWE is the developmental system they have. Back in Evan’s day it was Ohio Valley Wrestling, in which Evan won the main event championship for! After WWE stopped being affiliated with OVW they moved onto FCW (Florida Championship Wrestling) where they still have their developmental talent. Now this is pretty good for the younger and up and coming WWE superstars, they get a chance to impress with less pressure on them. When WWE felt the time was ready Evan was called up to the ‘main roster’, because WWE really cared about ECW back then!

Now I will be honest with you, I can remember seeing Evan Bourne wrestle for the first time, it was amazing! His first match I saw was against Matt Striker, one of the best WWE commentators (apart from JR, Booker and Lawler), and it was unreal! The moves and crazy flips that he did was a breath of fresh air into the WWE. Yes they had Mysterio but what he did was tame in comparison to what Evan was doing! Then there was his finishing move, Air Bourne, probably one of the best looking finisher of that time! Boy oh boy did Evan’s stock keep on rising within ECW; he eventually faced Matt Hardy (lol) for the ECW title at Cyber Sunday (a PPV they SHOULD bring back). Evan may have lost but considering the crowd chose him, shows you how much he was loved back then. Unfortunately for Evan he injured himself trying to do an awesome move causing to be out of action for quite some time. Still he picked up a Slammy award for the best finisher (applauds Evan for his achievement). Then before ECW was shut down Evan got traded to Rarely Any Wrestling and has stayed there happily ever after…

Except for the fact that the story doesn’t end here! Nope Evan kept on rising within the WWE. After winning and losing some matches here and there Bourne somewhat got his opportunity when he teamed with Cena and got the pin for this team. After this Bourne feuded with Jericho (again only playing with the best) in which he almost cause Jericho to ‘leave the WWE’. Again no need for the nitty gritty but Bourne won the odd match but lost more matches, and ended up getting ‘injured’ by CM Punk. In reality Bourne need some surgery on his shoulder so that gave him a valid excuse for being off TV.

Push Time
When Bourne came back he came back with a ‘boom’, poor pun I do apologize. Well not that big a return, he beat an injured Sheamus and feuded with Swagger for a bit. He even won a watch at a PPV! Then Evan got his break in the WWE when he teamed up with Kofi Kingston and formed ‘Air Boom’ and won the tag team titles. They managed to retain them a few times and Evan even had time to get a 30 day wellness suspension, wow that’s totally not ironic! It did somewhat show how the WWE didn’t really care about the tag team division as one half of the tag team could be gone for a month and no-one really cared. Anyway as a form of a slap on the wrist Evan and Kofi lost the tag titles last January and the team basically faded out.

Suspension
Well to say that the team faded out would be an understatement. Unless you have been living under a rock then you know that Evan Bourne got yet ANOTHER suspension for violating the wellness policy. Yes AGAIN, this time he has earned himself 60 day, as of January 16^th. This pretty much means he won’t be featured at Wresltemania, maybe in the dark match (but that’s Drew McIntyre’s ‘job’), because his suspension keeps him gone until mid-march.  Now I have little to no sympathy for Evan. HE should know the rules, WWE only really gives you one chance to break the wellness policy before they really shun you. The wellness policy is there to protect you, we all know what could and has happened previously. I can try to understand that being in the WWE is hard; I have no personal experience so I don’t know but from what I heard it’s pretty tough. Why not try something completely legal that won’t get you missing for 60 days?

Ladies and Gentlemen, we are now officially on the road to Wrestlemania.

Tonight starts off with JL pandering to anyone and everyone who would let him. He puts on a brave face in front of everyone and claims that he will be named the permanent RAW GM by “his good friend” Triple H. He boasts about his performance as the Special Guest Referee in the Royal Rumble match and how he was unbiased and impartial in it. Next he announces all the superstars who will take part in the Elimination Chamber PPV vying for CM Punk's WWE Championship. The Contenders will be -- CM Punk, Kofi Kingston, The Miz, Dolph Ziggler, R-Truth and Chris Jericho. He announces the matches for the night but is interrupted by the WWE Champion who leads everyone in the crowd in singing the “goodbye song” for Mr. Laurinitis.

JL demands an apology from Punk but Punk tells him that he has only come out here to bid him farewell before HHH fires him. JL tells Punk that he wants to let bygones be bygones and offers his hand but Punk declines.

Daniel Bryan, who is to face Punk later tonight, comes out and brags about his victory the previous night and how Punk won't pose much of a challenge to him. Punk tells Bryan not to dwell on the little things and just put on a great show.

Now it's time for the 2012 Royal Rumble winner, Sheamus, to have his say. He brags about how he could have his pick of championships that he can go after at Wrestlemania XXVIII and leaves after wishing JL luck.

Randy Orton vs Dolph Ziggler

Barrett is watching the match from the stands. It was a back and forth match even though it seemed that Orton seemed in control longer. Ziggler had his chance to show off. Orton had opportunities galore to stalk and stare at Ziggie. The tide turned with Randy's superplex on Ziggler. It was all downhill for Ziggie boy after that. RKO for the win.

Winner: Randy Orton

Yes, I said it. While this may have seemed like an even match-up it wasn't.

Life choices

Daniel Bryan explains veganism to Punk while Punk explains being straight-edge to Bryan.

CM Punk vs Daniel Bryan (Champion vs Champion)

They start things off with a handshake. (ROH fans should know it's significance) Bryan starts out strong making ample use of his repertoire of technical abilities. Punk was able to send Bryan flying outside but once there suffered a few uppercuts before being launched through the barricades. Back in the ring he regains control with a springboard-clothesline. This was followed by one of the nastiest mid-air collisions I have seen which gave the WHC control over WWEC. He was however able to come out on top once again with a hurricanerana on Bryan off the top turnbuckle. Running knee connects but no GTS as Bryan dodges it and goes out the ring for a breather. Once their he counters Punks suicide-dive attempt and followed it up with a missile dropkick of his own. A barrage of kicks followed this but no 3-count. He tried to go for a superplex of his own but Punk countered and then there was an elbow drop. Unfortunately just when the match was entering the good part Chris Jericho interfered and attacked Bryan. Codebreaker on Punk after that.

Winner: Daniel Bryan

Rating : A (Horrible horrible way to end this)

The next inductee into the celebrity wing of the WWE Hall of Fame is... Iron Mike Tyson.

Kofi Kingston vs The Miz

Miz is angry at all the attention Kofi got when he did a handstand and yet he was the one who lasted longest in the match. Miz dominates initially as Truth watches at from the commentators table. Kofi tried to steal the 3-count win a couple of times but to no effect. However Trouble in Paradise from out of nowhere gives him the victory.

Winner: Kofi Kingston

Rating : C

Paranoia

Otunga tries to assure JL but he thinks Otunga is after his job.

Eve vs Beth Phoenix (Divas Championship)

I'm glad Kharma is back.

Eve loses quickly and then is stalked by Kane. The Big Red Monster tells her that whatever happened to Ryder will continue to happen until Cena embraces the hate. Also Eve will have to bear the brunt of it until Cena gets the message. Kane shows up behind her but Cena arrives to save the day one more time. The two men start brawling all over the arena Cena came out on top with a little help from the steel steps that he keeps using to bash in Kane whenever he got up. Kane runs away.

Decision Time

A very sombre JL comes out as the crowd greets him with another round of “Hey Hey Hey Goodbye”. He talks about all the good things he has done. How in his mind he has done such a swell job as the Interim GM of RAW.

Triple H then comes out and claims that as GM JL did a very stupid thing in trying to become a star rather than do his job properly. He gives the example of Vince and even himself of when they were Gms and how they let personal feelings cloud their judgement in their job and which ultimately was their downfall. He says JL has done the same thing on numerous occasion. JL begs for his job saying he'll do whatever it takes. HHH takes him up on that offer and tells him to ask forgiveness from the WWE Universe. JL apologizes but the crowd only boos him down. Trips asks the crowd for their opinion if they felt the apology was good enough. They of course said no. Triple H then decides to take a cue from his father-in-law's handbook and do what he did to erring employees of his. JL prepares for what's going to happen next by getting on his knees and applying chapstick on his lips. Trips makes fun of JL and was just about to fire him when a gong is heard and the entire arena goes dark.

The Dead Man walks out to a thunderous applause and with what seemed like a repeat of last year stares down at HHH before looking at the Wrestlemania sign and doing his signature – the cutthroat. However unlike last year Trips does not respond in kind and quietly leaves. We end the show with Undertaker standing alone in the middle of the ring.

            Finally, the most unpredictable time of the year for wrestling has come to us. Let's embrace it. When you finished embracing it, continue reading, and we will be able to see what is right and what is wrong.

Kane Vs. John Cena

             I know why this match was put at this PPV. They do NOT want Kane to break Shawn Michaels' record. It seems that they are pathetically trying their best. Kane already holds two records. If you don't believe me, look at last year. They keep Kane in the match for about two minutes. Now let's look at the man that can't lose cleanly, John Cena. That pretty much tells us what will happen.

Result: John Cena does not lose cleanly

World Heavyweight Championship: Daniel Bryan Vs. Mark Henry Vs. Big Show

             As reported earlier, Mark Henry has a hyper-extended knee, so there is a chance that he will not compete here. I didn't think he would win anyways, but he is a great addition to this title match. It is a steel cage match. Daniel Bryan and Mark Henry pulled off a fantastic steel cage match together, so I think that Big Show can make this one even better. I think that after years of not holding the title, we are going to see HIM rise back to the title.

Result: Big Show wins

WWE Championship: CM Punk Vs. Dolph Ziggler

             Dolph Ziggler is DEFINITELY who I am going for. He is obviously the better competitor, IN MY OPINION (think about why I said obviously before you type). Last year, Ziggler got a shot at a world title at the same PPV. He was unsuccessful by not losing cleanly (the difference between him and Cena is that Ziggler ACTUALLY DOES KNOW HOW TO LOSE CLEANLY!!!!). I am excited to see what they can do with this title match. I am pulling for Ziggler. I would not be satisfied if Punk wins, unless this match is an outstanding match. I wonder what Laurinaitis is going to do as the referee.

Result: CM Punk retains

Royal Rumble match

             This is the highlight of the PPV. To make things simpler, I am going to try and name the thirty competitors, and tell you why they won't win (except for the winner). Remember, that I might be wrong with my choice, but even though unpredictable, WWE will still manage to disappoint me. Anyways, here are the possible 30 competitors:

             Now, I am going to name you the opposite. Here are the five people that I mainly do NOT want to win:

             I know that the fourth person on the list may surprise you, but let me explain why I do not want him to win. Although I am a Jericho fan, I believe that he has done enough. Also, HE JUST CAME BACK!!!! He comes back and automatically gets put ahead of guys like Jack Swagger and McIntyre? If he wins, this will be the second time this happens. Remember his LAST return? Remember him getting an instant title shot? If it was John Morrison, however, I would not be as disappointed. Why? Because John Morrison hasn't had a lot of glory. He hasn't held a world title. Now continuing, if you have never had a shot at a world title, you are definitely not going to win. Who does that leave us with?

             There may be somebody that has had a shot that I didn't put on this list, but they are not going to win anyways, so I just stopped it here. Jack Swagger is the United States champion and the main person that I am rooting for, so that is more than enough to stop him from winning. Drew McIntyre has been mainly on Superstars, and is the secondary person that I am rooting for, so he is out as well. Randy Orton (who got Kennedy fired) is the worst wrestler of all time, so there is a gigantic chance that he is going to win. Well, I will just go out on a limb and guess who is going to win, with the people that are left.

Result: Sheamus goes to Wrestlemania 28 with a title shot

             Last year, I predicted that he will win. I think that this is going to be the year that he wins the title. After this whole rumble stuff is over, I hope that it doesn't completely SPOIL both Elimination Chambers, just like they did last year. Let me give you a recap of what happened. Alberto Del Rio said that he was going for the World Heavyweight Championship at Wrestlemania, which started a feud between Edge and Albert Of The River. We already knew that these two would fight at Wrestlemania. I of course was disappointed. Then we knew The Miz was going to face John Cena at Wrestlemania 27 because Miz eliminated Cena at the Royal Rumble (which, once again, proved that Cena CAN'T lose cleanly). If stuff like that happens again, you know that I am going to complain about it, so let's just hope that WWE does not ruin everything for us, just like last year.

Q: Who is your favorite wrestler that is not from America, Canada, Japan, Mexico, or England?

A: For me, it comes down to three wrestlers. The Iron Sheik (OF COURSE I LIKE HIM), Vladimir Kozlov, and Drew McIntyre. Also, do not deny that Vladimir Kozlov is a great wrestler. When he debuted, people were all over him. Same with McIntyre. I hope I gave you some sort of answer.

Hello ladies and gentlemen and welcome to yet another exciting edition of Highland View! I thank you for joining me and I hope you enjoy your stay. This week shall, as always, be something different. This week is shall be starting a series where I look at the ‘rise and fall’ of varying wrestlers careers. These are not limited to modern day wrestlers and WWE wrestlers, they will be wrestlers who I, or you choose. So let’s get to it!

The first wrestlers’ career who we shall be looking at is Jeff Hardy! Yes certainly quite a career which had so much potential, but never really managed to develop into anything spectacular. So as you know Jeff and his brother Matt started their own company ‘OMEGA’, which is set to make a revival! However, what you may not know is that  Jeff Hardy was actually a jobber for the WWF back in the day!  Yes so technically that is where his wrestling career started. However, I will be basing my start of his rise and fall from when he signed his first deal with the WWE way back when in 1998.

The start
So there we go WWF snap up Jeff and his brother Matt in 1998 after they had done enough to impress them. They did the dirty work and jobbed enough for a few months before the WWF gave them their big break in being the Hardy Boyz. Now this was downright HUGE for boy of these guys. Both of htem were the mainstream hardcore tag teamers of that era. Everyone can remember the Hardy Boyz for the crazy flips that they did. Now Jeff did get a bit of a bigger break between him and Matt. He held the Hardcore, Light Heavyweight and Intercontinental titles after winning the tag championships with Matt. What happens next for him is pretty werid as WWE do the same old tag team jealousy rivalry thing, they split up and fued for a bit. Then after they come back boom, WWF don’t even remember it happened. Oh heya John Morrison, how’s things?

After this split and reunion with Matt, Jeff was then pushed into the singles circuit over the next year, in the WWE.  He became the European Championship, but lost it to RVD. After that he didn’t do that much, turned heel for a month then saved Stacey Kielber (every man’s dream). After that he blamed a “burn out” for his reason for leaving the WWE. Basically, he was just to lazy to continue and he wanted a break. This to me was pretty stupid, he could have asked for WWE to right him off TV for a bit to let him rest and recuperate, cause what he did next certainly didn’t help him go to Vince’s good books.

TNA Switch
Yes what very few major wrestlers do (not old guys/has-beens) is go from WWE to TNA. Yet Jeff Hardy felt that he should do it, he felt he had what it took. Now I am going to skim over this cause I really couldn’t give a monkey’s about what happens in TNA. Basically Jeff had some pretty decent/hardcore matches, didn’t win a title, and got suspeneded for being late. If you want to be more specific TNA gave him a taste of the future except he rarely got a chance at the main event title, he was always just one short. Anyway back to Jeff Hardy’s ‘rise’

Back to the WWE
So Jeff must have done some serious kissing of backsides as WWE announced he had re-singed and played vignettes/promo’s to big up his return.  Now if you have kissed some serious WWE backside they will hype up your return, *cough* Cena/Orton/Jericho *cough*. Not saying anything bad against them we just all know they have done some in their time.  So not long after coming back hardy wins the Intercontinental title again and then has a re-re-union with his bro! They then went on to challenge for the tag team titles, back when the tag team divison was something worth talking about. Then Hardy being Hardy, he needed time off to “heal”, sheesh this guy gets injured a lot! So WWE being typical WWE decide to take him of the TV with little or no reason why, and bring him back a few weeks later as if nothing had happened. From there on Jeff had his ‘almost’ phase. I remember this time period for Jeff well cause I used to love him when I was younger. He came so close to winning the WWE/World Heavyweight title that it was nearly a joke him being in the matches! WWE made me believe that every time, maybe just maybe Jeff would get his main event title. Then at Armageddon 2008 Jeff finally did it, finally Jeff got his WWE title reign. Then WWE stabbed him in the back did the always rubbish brother vs. brother storyline up until Wrestlemania, which did lead to a pretty good I Quit match. Then Jeff feuded with Punk, which caused him to leave the WWE as per a match stipulation. No need to go into all the nitty gritty of what happened, most of you should know the details.

Back to TNA
Wow does this guy not like to stay put! After leaving the WWE because of injury he jumps ship, YET AGAIN! I remember watching his return to TNA, kudos to him he knows how to make an entrance. Unlike last time in TNA, Jeff this time got some glory, he picked up the TNA World Championship belt. Not really going to go into everything that happened because, well it’s TNA. What I do what to mention is Victory Road. Yeah Hardy figured it would be a good idea to turn up for his MAIN EVENT title match completely drunk, to put it lightly! Rightfully TNA sent him home in disgrace and that guy has been in and out of court more times than Lindsay Lohan! Boy does Jeff like his drug charges. Anyway, Jeff came back to TNA and that really sums up his fall for me. Going from WWE big gun to doing goodness know what in TNA, quite a fall really!

Who’s Hot?

Justin Gabriel—Man, Gabriel came out of nowhere, didn’t he?  It wasn’t so long ago that he was off TV completely, and before that he was in an awful tag team with perma-jobber Heath Slater.  Now he’s back, and he’s feuding with Cody Rhodes, a main event caliber worker. 

            This is going to be a great feud for both of them, though it will probably end at the Royal Rumble to give a Rhodes/Goldust feud time to percolate.  Justin Gabriel is a superstar about to be born.  He has a great look and exciting moves.  He seems to be ok on the mic so far.  All he needs is a big match to get traction.  Now Rhodes is already a superstar.  He is amazing in the ring, with a wide variety of moves and sells.  He uses match tempo and storytelling very well.  The two of them are going to make each other look like gods in that ring.

Jack Swagger—It looks like whoever is in the back that Swagger offended has finally forgiven him.  For almost half a year, Swags was jobber to the stars, losing match after match to everyone.  It was sad, really.  Swagger has so much in ring talent and he was just being used as talent enhancement, an overgrown Heath Slater (yes, that’s Slater rip #2.  I’m going for a record).

            Now Swags has got himself a belt and some main event victories for a change.  All he needs now is a good feud, and to stay off the mic.  Yes, the mic will continue to be his nemesis, but maybe his ring work will outshine it.

 Brodus Clay—Brodus Clay walked, or rather, danced from OVW straight into massive heat status.  Creative was lucky, they billed him as this giant main event monster, and then brought him out as Funkmaster Flab.  This almost backlashed and destroyed him.

            Clay made it work though.  He seems to genuinely enjoy the gimmick, and he pulls it off well.  Clay is one funky (Ernest the) Cat. 

            That being said, Clay is not ready yet for anything above mid-carder.  He is still very new to wrestling.  He has two moves and a Fat Guy Splash.  The idea that people expected him to come out and feud with the big stars is laughable now.

            His lack of experience is why he has this funkasaurus gimmick instead of a monster gimmick.  He’s a noob, and noobs need to pay their dues.  Part of those dues is a terrible (though entertaining) gimmick.  It could be worse, he could be a One Man Southern Rock Band (rip #3).

Daniel Bryan—Daniel Bryan has a ridiculous amount of heat as a villain right now.  Honestly, he might be the most hated wrestler in the WWE, next to John Laurenitis.  The crowd hates him because he’s arrogant, he weasels out of tough matches, and he insults the Big Show.  Michael Cole hates him because he’s a ‘nerd’ (good job with that anti-bullying program).  Booker T recently turned on him too.  Who’s left?

            I think a lot of the audience doesn’t like him because they don’t see him being legitimately strong enough to be the champion (yet CM Punk is?).  Bryan is one of the best in ring performers you will ever see, with a whole quiver of epic submission moves (He studies MMA at Randy Couture’s gym just to make his stuff authentic).  So far, the WWE hasn’t let him open up on anyone with some of his more unique stuff.  Instead they gave him Chris Benoit’s old move set.  Once Bryan breaks out of that, he will show some Cirque du Soleil moves.  In the meantime, enjoy watching him run away from giants.

Who’s Cold?

Chris Jericho—Chris Jericho is a genius.  It’s amazing watching him manipulate the crowd like it’s all some weird science experiment.  When Jericho came back, he knew that he would have too much heat (yes, there is such a thing).  He would be so popular that even as a heel the crowd would cheer him.  He wasn’t brought in to be a face, he was brought in as a heel.  So he did the only thing he could do.  He shut up.

            If people go crazy the second you open your mouth, then don’t open your mouth.  By teasing promos for weeks now, the crowd is finally beginning to turn on him.  He created anti- heat!  It’s just a brilliant swerve from a master manipulator.  Now after he wins the Royal Rumble, he’ll be ready to feud with CM Punk as a heel.

Zack Ryder—Oh no, Zack got chokeslammed all the way to Hell.  Yawn.  Seriously, yawn.  His segments have been putting me to sleep.  I loved his story arc with Ziggler.  It was a great triumph of the plucky upstart versus the evil champion.  But since then, he’s just gotten annoying.  I’m over the Broski stuff, and I don’t think that I’m alone.  Why else would WWE be taking him off of the air?

            Maybe after a Bro-less month I’ll be able to fist pump again, but I’ll enjoy my vacation from Long Island.

Kofi Kingston—The only person getting screwed by Evan Bourne more than Evan Bourne is his tag partner, Kofi Kingston.  Kofi did nothing wrong.  He stayed on the straight and narrow while his partner smoked his brains out like a hippie at a bluegrass festival.  Evan Bourne cost Kofi his tag title, his story line, and most importantly, time on TV.

            It looks like creative doesn’t have any ideas for Kofi right now, which means that we won’t being seeing much of him except as a jobber.  Here’s an idea, you can team him up with Heath Slater and job in tandem (rip #4)

Question:  Why so much Heath Slater hate?

I don’t hate Heath Slater at all, but he is killing his gimmick to all hell.  He’s supposed to be a southern rocker, but he has hair like a pretty girl and wears tights.  That’s about as southern rock as the waitresses at Chilli’s.

            If he wants to fix his gimmick, this is what he needs to do:

1)     Cut your hair into a mullet

2)     Grow either mutton chops or a creepy thin mustache

3)     Turn in your tights for blue jeans and a big belt buckle

4)     Come to the ring with a jean jacket covered in band patches

You can’t just put on a gimmick.  You have to live it.

 5) Where are the Faction? Over the years there have been many great factions in the WWE that served the purpose of pushing one or more superstars to new heights. When I was young, the first faction I remember, though to be honest it was more of a stable, was the group of guys managed by Bobby the Brain Heenan, sometimes known as the Heenan Family. He had a rotation of three or four guys at any time; names like Rick Rude, Andre the Giant, King Kong Bundy, Hercules, Mr. Perfect, Harley Race, etc. Even though they did their own thing, they still stuck together and helped each other out, but more importantly, it was a way to push guaranteed starts to new heights (Mr. Perfect), give aging vets a place where they could still be effective (Andre) and give people who were not much on their own (Hercules) a little credibility, giving their characters a purpose. More tradition factions suck as DX, The Nation, Evolution, and so on, elevated stars to new heights (HHH, The Rock, Randy Orton Batista), gave aging vets a place (Farooq, Ric Flair), and gave lesser talents some credibility ( The New Age Outlaws, D-Lo Brown.) That is something that is missing badly from today's product; recent attempts (The Nexus and The Corre), didn't fair because of the group having no talent or garnering no interest, they failed because they were broken up too early. If given more time together, each group could have made a soild impact and possibly produced more stars then were created. Mason Ryan alone = ehh, but imagine him paired with The Usos, Jack Swagger and Christian, now we have a group that could do alot for all parties ( side note, those were the first wrestlers I thought of that could use a little help, minus Christian he would be helping them ofcourse, don't hold me to that exact collect of guys.)

4) Where Are The Tag Teams​? This is essentially the same argument as was made for the factions, tag teams help to create stars, but also not every wrestler can be a huge singles star. I am fine with teams breaking up because one of the members is destined for stardom like say Miz and Morrison. WWE saw something in Miz and decided to push him to the moon, but what about Morrison? Well he got de-pushed so much that he threw up the peace sign on his wait to the Indys. Now, what if you threw him in a great Tag Team, for IDK, forever! They are many great Tag Teams that just stayed Tag Teams such as Demolition, L.O.D., etc. What's wrong with that? You can still make money as a team, still make the Hall as a team and BTW most wrestling fans love Tag Team wrestling, a truly lost art in the WWE. Once you establish a guy isn't going to be a huge single star, throw him in a team. Evan Bourne alone = ehh. Kofi Kingston alone = not too bad, not too great. Together = Air Boom, an entertaining team, who along with Primo and Epico, The Usos and four or five other teams WWE could create with all the talent they have, could make a pretty darn good tag division.

3)How Bout We Have TWO DISTINCT BRANDS? I loved the brand extension. I loved the idea of having two separate shows, with two separate fan bases, that provided two separate experiences. I loved both brands having their own separate P.P.V.S, minus the big four ofcourse. Lets go back to that! I realize that Smackdown was a little weak for awhile there, but at least it was different. My friend and I were having a conversation today about the two brands and he had no clue who was on which brand because of the Raw Supershow and all that nonsense. WWE has tried getting better ratings for SD by having SD stars on RAW to increase awareness, but hasn't worked, so lets go back to each show being each show. You can divide the shows a bit better between both shows, so each show is worthy of watching and more importantly, necessary to watch. I don't have to watch Smackdown to know whats going on, I can watch RAW and see Orton, Show, Bryan, Wade, etc. If you have two shows then make it to where I have to watch BOTH shows to get my WWE fix. With such an expanded roster, it would be easy to do so. There would be room for Tag Teams, Divas, and everything that gets thrown to the side when focusing on advancing one show and a certain group of performers. Another great thing that occured during the initial brand extension was....

2) ONLY ONE WORLD CHAMPION!Having a WWE champ and a world champ is just plain stupid. You are no longer the best in the biz, you are the best on the show, which takes away a lot of prestige. Have one world champ, don't care if it's WWE or the WORLD HEAVY., but just stick to one, so that people actually care about who the champ is. It's just degrading to the World Champion to say how the WWE champ is the richest prize in the biz. If that's so then what's the point of the world champ? Isn't champion of the world better than champion of the WWE?

1) Get Rid Of The Spinner Belt! It was cool when it made sense. John Cena as a rapper with a spinner belt made sense, but now it just looks cheap. He doesn't rap any more, spinners aren't cool any more and seeing HHH or C.M. Punk with a spinner belt makes me die a little inside, its gotta go!

             I was looking at some old articles from different writers, and instead of continuing my review of the SVR series into this week, I am going to give this article a shot. I know that there was a similar one that was published, but I asked the writer of that article for permission in writing this. He accepted, and so here it is. We will look at different wrestling fans and “fans” from MY PERSPECTIVE!!!! Well, let's get started!!!!

The anti attitude era “fans”

             These are the fans that HATE anybody who may have some sort of positive feeling towards the Attitude Era. What is wrong with this? THEY WORSHIP THE PG ERA. You cannot say one thing that the PG era lacks without being scolded by these “fans”. If you say “remember that first blood match...” they will be extremely quick to react with “WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM???? IT ISN'T ENOUGH THAT THEY PUT THEIR BODY ON THE LINE? NOW THEY HAVE TO BLEED??” etc. Anyways, these people do not appreciate the Attitude Era, and say that anybody who watched it MUST stop living in the past. Maybe instead of telling that to the fans of the Attitude Era, you can tell Vince to start trying to make the present at LEAST decent.

The 'YOU FORGOT ____' “fans”

             Do not tell me that you have not ran into these kinds of “fans”. These are the people that do not let you make a top ANYTHING list without them getting extremely mad that you did not include their favorite wrestlers. Here is a conversation that I had with one of these “fans”:

“Fan”: Who are your top ten of all time?

The Bouncer: John Morrison, Rob Van Dam, Ken Shamrock, a tie between Snitsky and Ken Kennedy...

“Fan”: I hate ties, but go on.

The Bouncer: Then it is Jack Swagger, Connor O'Brian, Cody Rhodes, Dolph Ziggler, and finally Billy Gunn.

“Fan”: WHAT???? YOU ARE SUCH A STUPID IDIOT!!!! You forgot Stone Cold, The Rock, Eddie Guerrero, Randy Savage, Triple H, John Cena, Ric Flair, Hulk Hogan, Undertaker, Shawn Michaels, Dusty Rhodes, Bret Hart, Owen Hart, Jim Neidhart, Kane, Christian, Edge, Chris Jericho, and of course CM Punk!!!!

The Bouncer: I would love to see your top ten. Here are my only two rules, which I got from you. Rule one, it must contain all of those wrestlers you just named. Rule two, there cannot be any ties.

             Do you get that? You HAVE to have all of those wrestlers on your top ten, or else they WILL get mad at you.

Bandwagoners

             We all knew that I couldn't make an article like this without talking about bandwagoners. If they see that a wrestler is getting followers, what do these people do? They hop onto the bandwagon. Why do they do this? Is it to fit in? My theory is that they do it to make everybody think that they know what they are talking about. There are the other types of bandwagoners that just go after whoever is the current champion. There were a lot of these in about 2007. Another case of bandwagoning is with Zack Ryder. It is now showing that people are getting sick of him. I say that Zack Ryder could have done without Green Day in his video, and maybe his supporters will still be here to support him, rather than just loathe at his “fans”.

Reverse bandwagoners

             I don't know what else to call them. These people HATE success. They do not want their “fave” wrestlers to win a world title. If a wrestler does win a world title, they are going to hate them. There are not a lot of these, but this still needed to be added into this article.

The fans who see things how it is

             This type is my favorite. That is all I am going to see about them. The title speaks for itself, and it does not need extra explaining.

The “fans” that only look at merchandise sales

             These people probably don't even watch matches, but they base wrestling skill on merchandise. Let me say that parents are going to buy stuff from whoever the champion is. John Cena was the champ for a year, so of course people bought a lot from him. Same thing with CM Punk. As soon as he became champion, he was able to make it to #1. The difference is that CM Punk can wrestle.

The anti-if “fans”

             This is the type that rivals the type that sees things for what they are. Let me explain the difference. Let's say the main event for Wrestlemania 30 would be Batista Vs. John Cena. It gets terrible ratings. The ones who see how it is would say “The match would have done better if there were better competitors, like John Morrison or Jack Swagger”. Here comes the anti-if fans saying “Well WWE did not do that”. All they do is state the obvious. Most provide nothing else to the arguments. You can try not to say “if”, but they may still find a way to state the obvious.

The “fans” that say that if you don't watch Indies, then you don't know anything

             Do NOT deny that you don't run into these kinds. They are going to hunt you DOWN for saying Daniel Bryan instead of Bryan Danielson. I don't mind them calling him Bryan Danielson, since I do almost the same thing by calling Mr. Kennedy by his pre-getting fired by Randy Orton (who got Kennedy fired) wrestling name. Anyways, they force a lot of people to watch Indies through fear. Some get afraid of being insulted, so they watch Indies. This isn't insulting anybody at all, but it is okay to watch whatever your preference is. Nobody should have to be pressured to watch Indies, or even TNA for that matter.

The Bouncing Q & A

Q: What has been the most disappointing world title reign?

A: That is a very tough one. I would make it a tie between Rob Van Dam's 2 week reign as double champion, Dolph Ziggler's ten minute reign as The World Heavyweight Championship holder, and Jack Swagger's reign as World Heavyweight champion. Dolph Ziggler's and Rob Van Dam's are obvious, but I want to speak more about Swagger's. Let's look at it. He gets an extremely triumphant victory over an injured Chris Jericho. After that, he loses to John Morrison in the OPENER on Smackdown. This was the ONLY time I did not want John Morrison to get a win over a world champion in a non title match. I wanted Jack Swagger to look like a good champion. Also, his ONLY defense was through DQ. After that, he loses it in a fatal 4 way, then loses after getting another shot at it. It was NOT Swagger's fault. He was easily able to keep me interested in everything he had to say. I was definitely over, so he did his job. It was just TERRIBLE writing. Jack Swagger deserved a longer reign with REAL title defenses.

Ladies and Gentlemen, we are two weeks away from the 2012 Royal Rumble. Let's get this show on the road.

For the kids...

Starting things off tonight is the legendary Mick Foley. He says that he wants to wrestle in the ring one last time for his kids. He says that he wants to be one of the 30 men competing in the Royal Rumble. Ziggles & Piggles interrupt the proceedings to admonish Foley for wanting to steal the opportunity from someone more deserving even though it is highly likely that he'll be eliminated the second he steps into the ring. Foley says that he doesn't just want to be a part of the Rumble but actually win it too. Ziggler says that it would be a disgrace if Foley were to win the Rumble and tells him to forget about it and go back home.

CM Punk then decides to give his thoughts on the whole situation too. He cites his similarities between him and Mick Foley and how they deserved to be champions unlike Ziggie. JL then comes out to say that he will be impartial in the match and as for Foley being in the Rumble he says No.

Primo & Epico vs AirBoom (WWE Tag Team Championship)

The previous night Epico & Primo were able to defeat AirBoom to win the titles. They defended it pretty easily tonight too.

Winners: Primo & Epico

Words are overrated

JL is in his office with the still mute Jericho telling him about the main event where he will join Daniel Bryan & CM Punk to take on Dolph Ziggler, Mark Henry and David Otunga.

A banged up Ryder is standing with Eve. Josh asks him if he had been cleared for his match tonight against Swagger for the US championship. He says he doesn't know but he'll still fight for the belt. Eve decides to accompany him to the ring.

Swagger dominates. Three Gutwrench Suplexes later we have a new champ.

Oops... My Bad

JL comes to the locker room and apologizes to Ryder for letting him compete in a match even though he wasn't medically cleared for it. Eve was indignant on Zack's behalf but JL just told her to shut up.

Perez Hilton walks in to a lot of boos to announce the competitors of the next match.

Kelly Kelly & Alicia Fox vs Bella Twins

The Bellas tried to pull the switcheroo but were stopped in their nefarious plans by Mr. Hilton.

A lesson from Disney

R-Truth comes out. Then Wade Barrett comes out and says that he's gonna win the Royal Rumble. R-Truth shows him a few pics of him visiting Disneyland which is right across the arena in Anaheim, California. One of the pics was that of Pinocchio who apparently told Truth that Barrett was gonna win the Royal Rumble. And then... lo and behold.... his nose grew! Truth tells Barrett that Pinocchio lied and there was no way that he was gonna win the Rumble. Miz attacks from behind. Sheamus comes to rescue. Teddy Long comes out and announces a match: a 4-Man Royal Rumble preview.

Sheamus vs R-Truth vs The Miz vs Wade Barrett

Barrett takes on Sheamus while Miz goes up against Truth. Barrett was quickly eliminated by all three men together. The remaining three head to head. Sheamus first takes Miz out of the picture and concentrates on Truth. After some time Miz gets back up and continues to attack on Truth. Sheamus gets back up again and almost gets eliminated trying to Brogue Kick Miz but hangs on. He then lifts him up and as he is trying to throw him out Truth gets up and eliminates both men together.

Winner: R-Truth

It's good to be bad

Cena is very upset at JL for letting Ryder compete even though he wasn't fit. JL says he's sorry about what happened but tells Cena to be more worried about Kane against whom he will compete at Royal Rumble. He also has a match against Swagger up next.

That match never happened. A visibly angry Cena comes out and starts assaulting the US Champion before the bell ever rang. Kane shows up on the tron and applauds Cena for 'embracing the hate.'

In case you're wondering that was me skipping over Brodus Clay's match. I swear I cannot, for the sake of my own sanity, report on that.

So last week Big Show ran over (as in literally collided and ran over) Daniel Bryan's girlfriend AJ while he was in a match against Bryan. Tonight Bryan comes out and blames Big Show for assaulting AJ and that he will dedicate his match against Mark Henry this week on Smackdown to her.

Daniel Bryan & Jericho & CM Punk vs David Otunga & Mark Henry & Dolph Ziggler

Punk starts strong against Ziggler. He tags in Bryan who fails to keep the momentum going and trips over Ziggler, who proceeds to concentrate his attacks on Bryan's knee. This m.o. was continued to be used by Otunga as well. After some time Punk gets tagged in. He goes after Otunga but he too loses control pretty quickly. Otunga tags in Ziggler who tries to wear Punk down and after some time tags Otunga back in. This time Punk was able to launch a counter offensive and is able to land an elbow on him. He tags in Jericho. Jericho runs around the ring a couple of times, tags Daniel Bryan, and then leaves the ring.

After the commercials Ziggler is in control over Bryan but not for long. Tag made to Punk and the WWE Champion quickly goes on the attack. Neckbreaker, high knee + bulldog followed by springboard shoulder thrust. Mark Henry breaks the pin attempt. Bryan tries to attack Henry but fails. The two men then move their arguments away from the ring and take it outside. So it seems this will be a 2-on-1 handicap match. Nope. Mick Foley comes out and tells the ref that JL has allowed him to participate in the match. Inside the ring Punk and Ziggles are at it again and after some time tag in their respective partners. Foley decimates Otunga. Smelly sock FTW.

Winners: Punk & Fo...

JL comes and says that he never gave Foley any permission, which is why the decision of the match will be reversed giving the victory to Ziggles & Co. Punk then gets in the face of JL, calling him a coward for not coming out and confessing why he hates Punk. He says that JL is just jealous of him because unlike Punk JL had the 'look' but sucked in the ring. He warns JL that if he tries to screw him off the belt then he would suffer the consequences.

After Punk leaves, Foley demands that JL just admit that he was planning to screw over Punk at the PPV. JL says that he was indeed planning on doing that because he wasn't getting the respect he deserved for all he did. Then he smashes the mic on Foley's head and leaves.

Hello ladies and gentlemen and welcome to yet another exciting edition of Highland View, I hope you enjoy your stay! Boy oh, boy is it that time of the year again! What time you may ask? Well, Royal Rumble time! Yes one the eariliest PPV’s and one on the ‘Road TO Wrestlemania’ PPV’s. This main event, not the PPV, is the complete match. Twists, and returns like no other match can bring. Also the winner of it is all but assured stardom, so who can win such a match this year? There’s only one way to find out, so let’s get to it!

Now what does it take to win the Royal Rumble match? Well to start with you have to have the WWE creative team/ Vince supporting you. So who does that rule out? Well pretty much any mid carder. Just look back at all the previous year’s winners of the Royal Rumble, all of them (maybe the exception of Ladberto Del Rio) have been main eventers. Need specific examples? Edge in 2010, Orton in 2009 and Cena in 2008. Do I really need to give much more examples? WWE loves there Wrestlemania, they love to promote it, heck they told us a match nearly a year before it will happen (Rock vs. Cena). That is why WWE likes to have some solid main event wrestlers, who they know can carry the pressure of being, Mr Royal Rumble/ World Champion. So guys like, Zack Ryder, Drew McIntyre and Dolph Ziggler you guys are out by this simple reason.

What else does it take to be the Royal Rumble champion? Some decent ability in the ring. If you look throughout the years all of the winners have had some pretty darn good talent in the ring. It’s like what I mentioned above, WWE only lets the best of the best, the crème de la crème win. For me, it’s quite justifiably, why would WWE want to give someone like Santino Marella the limelight in the first PPV of the year. The first chance for WWE to be tested in the new year, more on this will come later on. That is why WWE has the most talented of athelets. If guys like Jo-Mo and Evan Bourne were able to compete in Royal Rubmle (yes different reasons but still equates to the same thing) I reckon that they would get a shot. However, that’s not how it will be, so people like Mark Henry and Santino Marella, never had a chance at the Royal Rumble.

Another thing that the Royal Rumble is renowned for it returns. Yes like every year WWE always brings back one golden oldie to give back to the older generation of fans. Last year we had Kevin Nash and Booker T, and I’m very happy to say that both a involved with the WWE. Yes Jericho is already back, but look at who WWE can call back, Undertaker, if need be Triple H! If you want even bigger names I’m sure WWE could convince someone like Stone Cold to return for the night. Yes people would know that Stone Cold wouldn’t win, but wouldn’t it be great if the WWE were to bring him back for just one night in the ring? Wouldn’t it be great to see him hit just a few more stunners in a WWE event? That is what seperates the Royal Rumble from anything else; you just expect almost anything to happen!

What makes the Royal Rumble match so different to anything else? The prize you get for winning it. This doesn’t make you the main eventer for now, like being the champ does, it makes you the main eventer for the next few months. Look at Ladberto Del Rio last year, WWE couldn’t help but give us as much of Ladberto as they could, why? Because Ladberto was ‘Mr.Royal Rumble’. This is a position that few have held the honour of, and even fewer have made themselves legends because of it, that’s right Stone Cold and Shawn Michaels, I’m talking to you guys!

The Royal Rumble, for me is one of the most anticipated PPV’s of the year for the WWE. Not only does it start the renowned ‘Road To Wrestlemania’ but it is also the first chance for the WWE to prove itself, PPV wise, in the new year. WWE get a ‘clean’ slate, a chance to show that this year will be better than last year. A chance to prove that maybe just once, someone inside the creative team will use two ounces of common sense to make decent matches, not money making schemes. However, I digress so as I was saying, the Royal Rumble match is the first major main event of a PPV (obviously there is the Elimination Chambers and Wrestlemania main event). That means WWE needs to get out of the blocks with a bang, I mean a BANG! Yes big impact, high flying moves is what we want, and normally that is what we get

So we move onto the final part of this Royal Rumble discussion to a very important question: who do I think will win it? Well as I said above people like Swagger, McIntyre (if he’s still ‘in’ the WWE), Ziggler and co (basically mid-carders) have no chance of winning it. The same can be said for joke wrestlers (Henry, Khali and Hornswoggle) and the golden oldies (Nash, Booker T etc.). This means only a main eventer can win the Royal Rumble. Now for me the only person that can win it is.. Chris Jericho! Yes now my logic is simple. Jericho is, somewhat, fresh back into the WWE scene, so he has a HUGE bandwagon. Chris Jericho win Royal Rumble = more WWE money! Also WWE wouldn’t risk Undertaker coming back as it would guarantee he would win a title at Wrestlemania (come on, WWE wouldn’t let him lose at Wrestlemania, ever). Anyway that is my view on it, your up to your own minds.

Question: What is your opinion on the Evan Bourne situation?

Answer: Well to be honest I think Evan Bourne is a bit of an idiot. He already violated the wellness policy once, why do it again? I get that being in the WWE is tiring but I am pretty darn sure there are perfectly legal substances which will help your body to recover. I don’t understand Evan Bourne. Surely after being caught with stuff he shouldn’t have he would know no to try it again? He’s just wrecking his career now as he will most definitely be very low in Vince’s good books. Shame, the guy has got great talent, just hope he doesn’t do a Jeff Hardy..

          As most of us know by now, Randy Orton has a herniated disk in his back, also known as a slipped disk.  These are incredibly painful, and sometimes require surgery to fix (those his won't and he should be back by Wrestlemania).  If you’ve ever had one or know someone that has, you might even feel a little sympathy for Randy.  Of course, it’s still Orton (the man who alledgedly dropped a deuce in a Diva’s gym bag), so it’s hard to feel any sympathy for him for anything.

          I do feel a bit of sympathy for the WWE, even though they brought this train wreck upon themselves.  Orton has been the main draw on Smackdown for too long and the WWE invested too much in him.  They should know better, wrestlers get injured all the time.  You can't have your show revolve around one wrestler. When your job description involves chair shots to the head, you can expect to spend a lot of time in a cast. 

Randy Orton Isn’t Awful

           There is a lot of hate going around the Interwebs about Orton, and frankly, he deserves most of it.  He has proven time and again that he is a back stage cancer, whether through harassing Divas, pushing around production crew, or throwing Ken Anderson under the bus (leading to him being fired).  He is hard to work with and has enough pull in the WWE that if he doesn’t like you, you’ll be squashed like a cat under a Camaro.

          But as far as in ring performance goes, you can do much worse than The Viper.  He has several inventive moves like the inverted facelock backbreaker and the rope hung DDT (he also had a modified Overdrive, but I haven’t seen that in a long time).  His ring psychology reminds me of HHH, how he will slow a match down and zero in on an opponent’s weakness; I wouldn’t call him a tech wrestler by any means, but his ring psych has some definite technical shades that give him kayfabe legitimacy.

          Orton sells well too.  He understands that a good worker makes his opponent look good too, thus making yourself look good, in a paradox not seen since Marty McFly traveled back to 1955.  He is not afraid to look like he is getting destroyed in the ring, and his losses to Mark Henry gave Sexual Chocolate’s reign weight (no pun intended). 

          I am not a fan of Orton’s, but I don’t like him because of his outside-the-ring attitude problems (also, listening to an Orton promo is like suffering through a case of dysentery.)

No Depth in the Smackdown Roster?

So now the Smackdown roster is has three of its biggest stars inactive.  Orton has Old Man Back.  Christian is still out with an injured ankle and neck.  Mark Henry has a pulled groin (giggity) and injured hamstring and is on light duty for a time.  For those of you keeping score, that’s one face and two heels down.

WWE is probably going to fill a heel spot by turning Big Show against Daniel Bryan (though a Bryan heel turn would be incredible, and is hopefully going to happen).  That will make the top three heels Show, Henry (who’s injured) and Wade Barrett, with Cody Rhodes right behind.  That’s not a bad situation, though Barrett needs someone to feud with now that Orton’s gone.

It’s the faces that are the problem.  Daniel Bryan, though I think he’s the best in ring performer on Smackdown, is not ready to be the top face, or the top heel.  That leaves Zack Ryder, who is also not ready (and is on Raw too), and Sheamus.  Sheamus has the experience and the fan base to be a top face, but it will not happen.  The WWE has proven time and again that they do not want foreigners as the top face on their shows (except for Canadians).  Think back, when was the last time a foreigner headlined a show as a face?  I can’t think of a single one (I’ll take this to more detail in a future article). 

As far as I can see, the only solution is to bring back the Undertaker to Smackdown instead of Raw.  He’s the only one that can keep the viewers from changing the channel, or worse, going outside on dates (I keed, I keed.  We wrestling fans never have dates). 

Moving Taker to Smackdown eliminates the chance for a Jericho/Taker match at Wrestlemania, which would have been interesting, or a Taker/Kane match, which would have pleased the writer in me for closure’s sake (they could’ve brought back Paul Bearer for it too.  Creative Team fail).  Instead we will probably get another HHH/Taker feud.  I can do without that.

          In the mean time, Show will feud with Bryan, Barrett with Sheamus (an Irish/English feud, do this right Creative Team!), Henry will rest, and Cody Rhodes will feud with Booker T, or with Goldust if he is ready.  This is not a card that I would want to see.

Life’s Sweet Ironies

          Sometimes life is so ironic that you wonder if some Ancient Greek dramacist up there writing a script.  Randy Orton helped to get Ken Anderson fired because he “Didn’t feel comfortable in the ring with him.”  This is because Anderson botched a move and Orton ended up with some bruises and muscle strain (Imagine, a wrestler with bruises and muscle strain.  For shame, Ken Anderson!).  This created an environment around Orton where no one wanted to take risks in matches with him for fear of being Anderson-ed.

          Last year Orton hit Cody Rhodes with a ring bell and basically tore his scalp off.  The bleeding was so bad that WWE production had to cover Rhodes with a towel so that the cameras wouldn’t pick up all the blood, and still Orton continued to beat on Rhodes.  I thought at the time that this was hypocritical of Orton—its ok for him to botch a move and hurt someone, but if another wrestler does that to him, he throws a fit.

          Little did I understand the cosmic wheels rolling around.  Orton--the untouchable worker, the man who you dare not injure—is now sitting at home in a truss.  For all his efforts to protect himself, he still ends up with Old Man Back. 

          Couldn’t happen to a nicer guy.

To start things off, let me say that I would not go after people like Triple H, or Undertaker. Why? Because they are still are on the active roster. Don’t get me wrong, they most certainly deserve to be inducted one day, but not as long as they are on an active roster somewhere. Edge and the Horsemen are already inducted, so they are already disqualified from this list. So who would I put on that list? I would induct people who are either no longer with us, or are no longer in the immediate wrestling picture.

5. P.S. Michael Hayes
There was some debate that Hayes was in the Four Horsemen, for a very small time. Nonetheless, he did not get recognized for being in the group. Hayes was more famous for leading the group, the Fabulous Freebirds. Hayes created the famous group back in 1977. Throughout the years, Hayes and his stable were known for being both a rock band gimmick, as they would strut to the ring. They even created their own music video “Bad Street”. Hayes had won several titles, including the NWA World title, which was a big deal in its time. Hayes and the Freebirds also feuded with the VonErich’s who were big in the late 70’s to mid 80’s.

Then in 1995 Hayes retired early due to a back injury, while he was in WCW. He eventually signed with the WWF, under the name “Dok Hendrix”. It was then where he was the back stage interviewer, and would eventually do some color commentary. Over the next few years Hayes would be in some angles in the WWF/WWE, but would eventually head to the back to become one of the main Storywriters for SmackDown, but again has moved down in rank for some reason. Hayes was at the ceremonies two years ago, but he himself, was not inducted. I think it’s time that he is.


4. “Ravishing” Rick Rude
Ravishing Rick Rude was one of the more infamous Intercontinental Champions of his time. Almost every night, Rude would prance to the ring, and tell everyone to “shut-up” so he could show off his body. After defeating his opponent, he would pick a woman out of the crowd and give her a good night kiss. Obviously, she was planted, but it was still entertaining TV...for awhile. In 1987 he defeated the Ultimate Warrior, (With some help if Bobby Heenan.) at the Royal Rumble back in 1989. However despite not winning the WWF Title while he was with the company, his glory for the gold was achieved elsewhere.

He made his first arrival in WCW around 1991. After two years of proving himself, Rude defeated Ric Flair for the NWA World Title in 1993. While Rude was still champion, the WCW lost the rights to the NWA Championship Title, so the company renamed the Title: WCW International World Heavyweight Championship in 1994. Rude dropped the title, in an over-seas match against Hiroshi Hase, but quickly regained it one week later. Only to bounce the title off of Sting for a month’s time, to become a three time World Champion.

Rude is also not a man without controversy. Back in 1997 He was on both WWF Raw and WCW Nitro on the same night, when the companies were bitter rivals. To no one’s surprise he was also a part two of the biggest factions: DX, for the WWE, and The NWO for WCW. His second run in the WCW was not as great as his first. In 1999 he was getting ready for a title run, when he suddenly passed away due to heart failure, at the age of 40. There were reports that Rude had overdosed in several painkillers.


In short, I think Rick Rude was a great entertainer in his time. While he may not have outshined most of his peers, Rick Rude was most certainly a spectacle in his own right. It was sad to see him go so early. Not only was Rude a legend, he should be a Hall of Famer.

3. Paul Heyman
Paul Heyman is better known for starting the legendary wrestling company Extreme Championship Wrestling. A wrestling organization that defined what hardcore wrestling really was. ECW was the company that made it out of the high school gyms, but sadly just didn’t make it. After finally getting on television with TNN for some time, it looked as if Heyman had finally made it. However TNN had no plans on giving Heyman another contract, because they had made a deal with the WWE, and in 2001 ECW sold to the WWE. It was also the same year that WCW sold out to the WWE. The WWE had finally won the Monday Night Wars.

But Heyman’s career was not done just yet. Before the WWE re-created ECW as a brand under its banner, Heyman created an ECW Stable as an “Invasion” angle during the WWE/WCW merger. It was great time in wrestling

Heyman continued on by managing former World Champion, Brock Lesnar, and had a short run as the General Manager of SmackDown in 2003. However his heart was always with ECW as he went back to manage some of the ECW Originals, like the Dudley Boys. In 2005, ECW came alive once again, with the PPV: “One Night Stand”, where it sparked WWE to create a version of its own brand, on Tuesday nights. Yet the water-down version of the show, just never made it with the hard core fans.

Heyman left in 2006, after having several disagreements with Vince McMahon about how ECW was managed. Despite all of his frustrations or bitterness he may have with the company, I still think that Paul Heyman definitely should be entered in the WWE Hall of Fame. If you ask me, I would like to see an ECW themed Hall of Fame induction on year. Because of this long blog, I wrote just the names below of who I think that ECW HoF Theme I would like to see. (Heyman included obviously.)

2. “Macho Man” Randy Savage: A Special Tribute to “The Madness”
Looking back into the 80’s some of the most inspirational wrestlers came out of that era. One of those wrestlers was “The Macho Man” Randy Savage. Savage was a “complete package” wrestler. He was great on the mic, he was excellent in the ring, and that flying elbow, was devastating!

Although Savage was wrestling throughout the early 70’s, he did not debut in the WWE until 1985. That’s when his career really started to shine. He had won several titles, and had some legendary feuds with some of the biggest names in wrestling, such as Hulk Hogan, Ultimate Warrior, and Ricky Steamboat. It was at WrestleMania 3, where many people agree that Savage and Steamboat stole the show, and had one of the best matches on the card that night.

Over the years in the WWF, Savage had played many roles. He was Hogan’s Partner as the infamous “Mega-Powers”, until several months later Savage became jealous and turned on Hogan. At the time Savage was the Current WWF Champion, and he went on to face Hulk Hogan at WrestleMania V. Savage lost the title after holding the title just shy over a year.

Despite the big loss, Savage picked himself up, and moved forward. He then conquered the King of the Ring, where he became “The Macho King”. I thought this was one of the most ruthless times I would ever see him in his career, as he attacked several of his opponents with his glass scepter. However after several years of commentating for the WWE and WCW, Savage took his Ruthlessness to new heights as he joined the New World Order back in 1997.

After making a quick pit stop in TNA, Savage retired due to health reasons in early 1995. However Savage’s talents were not just as a wrestler. Savage played “Bonesaw McGraw” in the hit movie: Spiderman. Surprisingly enough, The Macho Man was even a rapper! I personally don’t think it was his highest point in his career, but he did it. But his most famous moments outside his wrestling career has to be as the spokes person for Slim Jim.

Macho Man Randy Savage was truly a character both in and out of the ring. Sadly he was taken from us last year, when he suffered a major heart attack, while he was driving with his wife. He was 58. With all of the accolades and great moments that Savage has left behind, there is NO REASON why he should not be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. If the WWE has ANY Class, he will be in the Hall of Fame THIS year!

1.Vince McMahon
If there is anybody who should not be inducted by now, it’s Vince. Ok He’s still technically on the active roster, but I don’t see him strutting out here week in, and week out. As to why he should be entered into the WWE Hall of Fame, well if you’re a wrestling fan, and asking that question, you have no right to call yourself a wrestling fan.

The Chairman of World Wrestling Entertainment has literally done it all in wrestling. From building the largest wrestling empire in the world, to commentating, to wrestling himself, there was nothing Vince McMahon could not do! Any inspired blog writer could write about what this man has done, but the hour is long, and it’s time to end this one.

             Well, it is now time we go back into the “Smackdown Vs. RAW” mindset. It was pretty hectic, but we were able to get through it. Today, we are going to look at what most people consider to be the worst SVR game of all time, Smackdown Vs. RAW 2008, so get ready for it.

New class system

             This got WAAAAY too many complaints. Here is the system. You get to choose between the following classes:

1. Showman

2. Technician

3. Submission

4. Hardcore

5. Dirty

6. Brawler

7. Powerhouse

8. Highflyer

             Each style had their advantage and disadvantage, unlike 2010 and 2011 where powerhouses are at a gigantic disadvantage. The only things I don't like are the following:

• No durability recharge

• No finisher storage

• No springboards for Carlito

• No limit as to how many “hardcore resurrections” could happen

             I think it could have been done better, and it is a lot more balanced then the more recent games. Wouldn't you want to choose what type of wrestler you are in the game?

24/7 mode

             This is what started to kind of annoy me. You cannot be in the middle of a season mode and GM Mode. You can only have one that is active. In order for you to play the other, you have to overwrite it. Why would they have it happen in this game, but not in 2007? Season mode is okay, but isn't as great as 2007's. GM Mode takes it further, but at the same time took out one of my favorite things. Now, there are easier ways to boost the popularity of the wrestlers. You can also train the stats better. For a CAW, it is pretty hard to raise the stats (not as horrendous as the next game). Now, you are able to choose ECW as a brand. The GM of it is Tommy Dreamer. It isn't as fun since you get to use only one title. My main complaint for GM Mode is the fact that the injury system is completely broken. Now, their injuries actually affect their match performance. THQ tried to be more realistic with it. Here is the next thing. This is where THQ just forgets about normal science. This is basic science that they are messing with. Get ready for what I am about to say. IF YOU FIRE SOMEBODY, THEY WILL STAY INJURED UNTIL SOMEBODY HIRES THEM. That takes out most of the fun in GM Mode, in my opinion. Remember in Smackdown Vs. RAW 2007 when you would injure Randy Orton (who got Kennedy fired) as Snitsky, Kennedy, RVD, or JoNo, then you would wait until his Torn ACL would heal, then injure him again? I remember it, and it was a lot of fun. THQ never patched it, and they are not going to patch it EVER. Well, let's continue.

Tournament mode and match types

             THQ adds in a new thing called tournament mode, which doesn't return. I liked the concept of this. You can do beat the clock challenges, KOTR, MITB, or just a regular tournament. It was a nice addition to the game. Then we go on to the match types. There are still the matches that 2007 had, AND they were able to add in new types, like Extreme Rules.

The controls and soundtrack

             The controls were very different from 2007. The most notable, change I noticed is the running. It runs a lot smoother. The soundtrack was great. Not as good as 2007's, but it was a terrific soundtrack. I hope they get a soundtrack like this in one of their next games. My favorite song here is “Evil (A Chorus of Resistance).

Overalls and commentary

             I like the commentary in this game. They added Joey Styles, Tazz, and JBL. They did mostly recycle dialogue from the last game. JBL's commentary wasn't that exciting for this game, as he spoke at half of the speed that he does in real life. Now onto the overalls. John Cena gets the highest overall. Let me remind you that Kennedy, Snitsky, JoNo, AND William Regal are in this game. Do NOT try to tell me that Cena can outwrestle ANYBODY that is not the worst wrestler of all time. The overalls for this game were completely flawed, and needed a lot of revamping.

Online play and community

             One thing I forgot to mention in the review of 2007 was the fact that if somebody left the game, the ENTIRE match ended, no matter what the match type was. You can be hitting any finisher on a player. You can be starting a pin. If they quit, the entire match ends just like that. There is the same problem here. The glitchers come back to this game, and come back a lot worse. Smackdown Vs. RAW has always had a terrible gaming community, and I will talk more about that in the next review. This will support up to four online players per game, which isn't anything to complain about. Just like every other wrestling game, you are going to run into “double and triple teamers”. I have ran into way too many to not see this as an issue. Here is what these people do. They knock you down. They stomp on you until you get up. If you get any sort of offensive on one, then the other will take you down and pick the other person right back up. The only things I like about this is the satisfaction of defeating these people. Again, I am not too old to be getting annoyed at games. Here is what I say to people that say “it is just a game”:

IT IS JUST A GAME? Well, you are right. Games are suppose to be fun. Stuff like that ruins the fun, thus ruining the game. When the game gets ruined, my relaxation and tuning out gets ruined....

and so forth.

Q: What is your favorite retired title from WWE (not WWECW)?

A: This is a tough decision between the Cruiserwieght and Hardcore titles. I would say that The Hardcore Championship was more interesting and exciting, so that will be my answer.

Tonight's show starts off with Kane reaffirming his quest to make Cena embrace the 'hate'. He says that in hating Cena all they prove is their hate for themselves. Cena interrupts the tirade and starts attacking Kane. Both men slug it out all over the arena, through the crowds, backstage and finally onto the parking lot where Kane mysteriously disappears.

Sheamus & Santino Marella vs Jinder Mahal & Wade Barrett

Jinder starts things off against Santino easily coming on top. Tag made to Barrett who continues the assault. Another tag to Jinder and this time Santino is able to counter with his version of the stunner and then quickly tag in Sheamus. Utter domination by The Great White. Brogue Kick on Jinder. Sheamus tags in Santino who finishes things off with the Kobra.

Winners: Sheamus & Santino

Rating : C

Miz complainst to JL about Truth again. JL says he has other things on his mind. He says that if he wishes Miz is free to hire bodyguards to protect him.

Kofi Kingston vs Daniel Bryan

Kofi comes out strong against Daniel in the beginning. But a Moonsault attempt is quickly countered by Bryan into the LeBell Lock for the win.

Big Show interrupts Bryan's victory celebrations to give him a piece of his mind. Bryan says that he is willing to give Big Show his shot at the title anywhere. Show says that this Friday on Smackdown they will have that match and it will be a No Disqualification, No Countout match.

So.... from Planet Funk, Brodus Clay a.k.a The Funkasaurus makes his debut on RAW. Ladies and Gentlemen I would like you to take a moment to read that sentence one more time. Done? Now read it again. Now picture a big, fat dude with a mohawk and a beard wearing a *shiny*... I say that again... *shiny* RED leotard!!!! At this point in time I would like to invite you to join me as I say....

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!

I did not watch the match afterwards.

Ryder is being stalked in the bathroom by Kane as he brushes his teeth in anticipation of his date with Eve.

Jack Swagger vs CM Punk

Before the match starts JL comes out to announce that if Punk beats Swagga then at the Royal Rumble PPV Championship match against Ziggler, both Vickie and Swagger will be banned from ringside. Also Ziggler has a match against Cena tonight.

Punk and Swagger struggle to gain the upper hand. To be honest the match went back and forth the entire duration of the match. As soon as one man gaines the upper hand the other quickly countered to regain control. There weren't many stand-out moments in the match but it was still a good match. The ending wasn't all that clean though. Punk elbow drops on Swagger from the top turnbuckle and goes for the pin attempt. The ref counted to three even though it seemed that Swagga had been able to raise his shoulder before the third count.

Winner: CM Punk

Cena tries to calm Ryder down who is getting freaked out by Kane.

The Bella Twins want to give a message to ADR via Ricardo. Before they could give the message Miz comes out and tells Ricardo to go to the ring and call out Truth or else...

The second inductee(s) to the WWE HoF Class of 2012 is (are) THE FOUR HORSEMEN!!!

Ricardo is in the ring and tries to insult R-Truth ('your breath smells like a rotten burritto') Truth comes out says that since he is now a 'gooooood' R-Truth he would let him go. But first he wants Ricardo to sing a song for him and Little Jimmy; some song called 'Lacu Caraca' (I'm sorry if this is wrong but this was what I could make out) Miz finally comes out of the crowd after Truth hit Paydirt on Ricardo. He tries to attack Truth but fails and runs away.

Chris Jericho comes out and once again without uttering a single word goes back the same way he came. He did cry a little though.

Eve comes out for her match against Beth Phoenix but before anything else could happen red lights shone down on the arena and Kane's music hit the speakers. Ryder quickly comes to take Eve to safety. They go to the parking lot where she gets in a car while Ryder tries to change a flat tyre. (?)

Dolph Ziggler vs John Cena

Ziggler dominates the match mostly. When Cena finally starts building momentum the 'tron shows Kane attacking Ryder while he was still trying to change the tyre. He chokeslams Ryder near the loading docks. Cena ignores the match and rushes to help his friend but Kane attacks him again and chokes him out.

Hello ladies and gentlemen and welcome to yet another exciting edition Highland View, I thank you for joining me today! As is the case with most people on earth we decide to make New Year’s Resolutions, stuff we promise our self we will do, however very rarely do these work. Well what would happen if I was to suggest the WWE apply some of my ‘New Years’ resolutions for them? Enough chit-chat, let’s get to it!

Number 1- Bring through Drew McIntyre
Now I know that I preach and praise this more than Michael Cole says that he is the voice of the WWE Network, but it is true. Seriously WWE, what does he have to do to get a shot! You made him out to be some form a god (which is, somewhat) and then you all but gave up after Jo-Mo left Smackdown for Rarely Any Wrestling. Look at him now, pretty sure he was meant to be on Rarely Any Wrestling but no, some overweight guy dancing in red tracksuit top and bottoms making his ‘re-debut’ is evidently more appealing than watching proper wrestling. Gosh WWE just think. Anyway, back onto the point, if you can nurture Drew McIntyre into the heel that he can become, then boy oh boy will you have a real talent for the future, quite easily the face of your company in 10 years’ time!

Number 2- Stay away from the GM
For WAYY too long was that downright stupid ‘anonymous Rarely Any Wrestling General Manger’ gimmick been going on for. Quite frankly I hated it to begin with and I still hate it now, heck I even hate it more than Batista hated kids at Extreme Rules PPV’s! When the whole Laurinitis takeover thing happened they all but forgot about the fact that the RAW GM thing was an ACTUAL gimmick. With an ACTUAL gimmick you have some form of start and some form of an end. You don’t just end it without giving a valid explanation (ie- say who the GM was!). If the ‘WWE Universe’ had two ounces of common sense (which they don’t as the like Justin Bieber) they would realize they never knew who the anonymous GM was. SO WWE for 2012, try to keep a nameable GM who actually appears on TV not from Michael Cole’s “And I Quote” god awful voice!

Number 3- Get rid of the old
Now this may come as a shock to you because I think the golden oldies like Jericho, Triple H and Undertaker and brilliant, but they are too old. It is like the problem TNA has, they have too many old people. Fans won’t want to see people in their 40’s wrestle with every chance that their hip could break at any given moment! No! People pay good money to see the best. What I say you do is bring down the older guys nice and gently. Don’t dump them out of their feet give them a proper goodbye and pay respect to them (ie- don’t let Undertaker get beaten and Wrestlemania!). That way the younger guys that you have can get shot at the WWE/World Heavyweight titles.

Number 4- Broadcast a whole new show!
By this I don’t mean get a whole new rubbish TV show like NXT or Superstars, actually bring in a third roster and let it have its own TV show. Remember the good old ECW days? Those were epic!! If you didn’t want to watch any of the ‘big’ shows (Smackdown or Rarely Any Wrestling) then you could easily watch ECW instead. Despite the fact ECW got trolled by the WWE and got absolutely terrible superstars (remember Colin Delaney, yeah real future WWE Champ eh?), they still put on some pretty good shows. TO stop me from digressing I move back into the WWE now, not the WWE of 3 years ago. Think about how good a third roster/brand would be. All the guys on NXT/ Superstars could have their own brand, with their own title, giving them a chance to be successful. Think of this for an idea, the winner of NXT moves into this new brand and is instantly a main eventer. That would be awesome! This new brand would give people on screen experience without it being the pressure of RAW or Smackdown. You would end up having so many well experienced guys to call up on; the WWE would be rolling in title holders. That’s just how I see the possibilities, but that is me.

Question: If the TV 14 rating was ever to return and blood would be back and they made a hell in a cell match that the wrestlers in it will cut themself, who do you want in the match?

Answer: Well that is certainly very different question, I mean because I have, like most wrestling fans, seen Hell in a Cell pre and during PG era. Now who would I want in that first post-PG match? Well first off I can’t predict wrestlers from an era that wouldn’t happen (Very true, for a long while to come PG is to stay). Going back to the question, first off I would make the match a six man elimination match (yes similar to Elimination Chamber, but oh well!) just to get 1) the most chaos and 2) to give the fans the show they deserve. My choices would be as follows; Mankind, Undertaker, Stone Cold, Batista, Triple H and Kane! Now if you look at each of these guys (Mankind as Cactus Jack/Foley etc..) they have all been in the best Hell In A Cell matches. Look at The Undertaker, they have dubbed the Hell in a Cell match his ‘burial ground’, does that not tell you anything about how good he is at these matches? Now I could pretty much waste your time by going into details about the other 5 guys, but my point still stands. Look at the memorable Hell in a Cell matches they have been in and my point is proven.

2. The Segments.

Not all the storylines and segments from The Attitude Era were the greatest. But instead of focusing on the bad, however not forgetting the Mae Young segments, The Artist Formerly Known as Goldust, and the racial separation creating DOA, Los Boriquas, and The NOD. The Attitude Era had highly entertaining high points and ultimately had rewritten what wrestling was going to be. DX invading Nitro, Stone Cold's ongoing feud with The Corporation, Miss Kitty going topless on PPV, and who can forget, The Undertaker throwing Mankind off the Cell. Or better yet, Mankind standing up from the stretcher and finishing the match. There were so many other segments, I could be here until next week praising things like The Beer Bath segment, but I'll stop here.

Bottomline: The Way I see it To have a good segment you need a little more effort from creative. When is the last time we saw a good segement..exactly

3. Recycling.

The Attitude Era has come to an end some years ago. And since it ended, there have been attempts to recycle it's content, it's characters, and it's style. Look at TNA. When WCW hired Ed Ferrera and Vince Russo, they tried to duplicate it and create their own Attitude Era. Which as everyone knows, turned out to be a complete and utter failure. For a long time, watching TNA was like watching the old Attitude Era. Only done poorly with poor production quality and bad choices used for reinvention. Can you honestly say that you watched TNA and didn't see how they were trying to make Mr Anderson like Stone Cold? Clearly that was their purpose and clearly, there's no way he could have pulled it off. How about John Cena? back in like 05 and 06, you couldn't look at John Cena without thinking to yourself, The Rock's replacement. I even remember explaining that to my brother-in-law and his friend, who's favorite was The Rock. I explained how The Rock is gone and Cena is The New Rock.

Bottomline: Nuff Said

4. It Still Lives Today.

My final point, is the Attitude Era still lives today. Whether it's The Miz bringing it up, or the WWE keeping certain iconic figures from the era around because it needs the support from "the best of times", it lives today. When you think about the debate on when The Attitude Era officially ended, some like to say with the purchase of WCW, others like to say it ended when Austin won his first title off Shawn Michaels at Wrestlemania. I think it extended a lot longer than that. I mean, the Edge and Lita storyline could be considered Attitude Era segments. Cena in the Thuganomics days could be considered Attitude Era esque. The Undertaker vs Brock Lesnar in the Hell in a Cell was very violent and showcased a lot of blood which was reminiscent of The Attitude Era style wrestling. So it's hard to say. But even today, the top moments in WWE, often revolve around figures from The Attitude Era. The Rock coming back and his promos are just like they were. No editing, sensoring, or PG content. He'll come out and call Cena a Yabba Dabba Bitch, and it won't matter. Wrestlemania last year was hosted by The Rock. This year, it's being main-evented by The Rock. Back in 07, Trump vs McMahon hair vs hair was headlined by Stone Cold. Even back in 08 or 09, HHH and HBK joined back up after a vicious rivalry, and reformed DX. A more tame DX but still, it's all about how the iconic figures of The Attitude Era are holding interest, and in many situations, being the focal point above today's stars. I got goosebumps when Rock came back and cut that amazing promo i felt like i was 10 years old again. it just showed me how much the Additude Era ment to me when i was a kid, nowadays it is not even close to being the same

That's what I got on the Attitude Era. I will, in my future Articles, try to be more mindful of those who either don't appreciate that era as much, or don't remember it. I will reduce my bias, but I will never try and defend today's PG era against The Attitude Era, because that would just be silly. Thanks for reading. Be Safe.

          Which highflyer has wowed me the most this year? It takes a lot to be a highflyer, and you get put at a disadvantage to the other wrestlers. There was a rule implemented for highflyers a while back. If you are a highflyer and your name is NOT Jeff Hardy, you are automatically a spot-monkey. No questions asked about it. I did not agree with that rule, but it was still in effect whether I did or didn't. I am going to judge this with MY JUDGING!!!! Here are the past winners:

             Which star went from almost nothing to something big this year? Who took the biggest leap this year? Whoever it was is going to win this award. Here are the past winners:

             All four of these guys went from nothing to something big. Zack Ryder was just a jobber, but he was able to get “fans” behind him with his mediocre show. Now he is main eventing RAW about a year too late. Then you have Daniel Bryan, who I didn't expect to win the MITB. He proved me wrong, and was able to successfully cash in the briefcase. Where was he before all of this? He had a dark no contest at Wrestlemania. CM Punk's leap was HUGE. He went from leading The Fake Nexus to be one of the regulars. He is the current WWE champion. I don't agree with this, but that is a huge break out. Lastly, you get R-Truth. He was the first eliminated from the Elimination Chamber. He then got a title shot for Extreme Rules, and rightfully lost it to the greatest wrestler of all time, which lead to his heel turn. He introduced us all to 'Lil' Jimmy. He starts an alliance with The Miz. After all of that, he gets suspended. He did get a huge push in all of this. I will judge this by the greatest leap.

Powerhouse of the year

             Let's talk a little bit about powerhouses. They are at a huge disadvantage. There is also a rule that was implemented for powerhouses. If you are a powerhouse and your in ring name is not The Undertaker, then you automatically cannot wrestle. No question asked about it. I was not fond of this rule either, but the IWC had no problem implementing it. Well, here are the past winners:

If you are on NXT, but not a commentator, pro, or rookie, then try to do more next year. Trent Barreta is out (unfortunately). Now we have half of the candidates left. If you are extremely inferior to the others on the list, then stop kidding yourself. You are not going to win, yet. Heath Slater may have a shot another year, but he is not going to win this year. Alex Riley is also eliminated for that same reason. If your character is a comic relief, come back when you get a better gimmick. Santino Marella is out, but it is not entirely his fault. He is not being used in the correct manner. If you had to be replaced by someone that cannot wrestle for his life at Wrestlemania for a false injury, then you are NOT going to win. This is Vladimir Kozlov's last shot, and it is not a victorious shot. We have about 18 left (if my math is correct). If you messed up John Morrison's triumphant return, then why are you even on this list? Triple H is out. If you made the best wrestler of all time job to you in a title match that opened RAW, then you do not deserve this award, so that means The Miz is out. Out of the sixteen that are left, I will choose on the spot. The criteria will be the same as always, so it will not be anything that is new.

Q: What is your favorite Indy wrestling promotion?

A: I have gotten this a lot of times, and I am only stating this so that everybody can know. First off, I am not ashamed of what I am about to say. I do not watch Indy wrestling, and I do not plan to. Does it mean that I hate wrestling and that I am not a real fan of it? OF COURSE NOT!!!! Here is an example of it. Do you enjoy watching low budget independent films with no plot? Neither do I. I still enjoy a good movie.

             Well, that is it. Now we must wait until the end of 2012 to give out these awards again. I hope that all of you understand why I picked the winners that I did. Well, I must go.

It's good to be bad

So I missed last week’s RAW and apparently quite a lot happened. It turns out Kane is now a Sith like figure out to draw Cena to the dark side. Cena comes out right off the bat to wish everyone a happy new year to which he is greeted with a whole lotta boos. He tells everyone his New Year’s resolutions, most prominent among which is his resolve to win at WM28. He repeats his propoganda. He challenges Kane to not hide behind words and face him in the ring.

Before he could continue, the arena goes red and Kane’s voice is heard over the speakers. He says that Cena will join the dark side.

Daniel Bryan vs Cody Rhodes

Back and forth initially. Rhodes concentrated his attacks on Bryan’s arm. Bryan was able to launch his own offensive but not for very long. Disaster Kick cut it short. The match ended soon after that. Rhodes lifted him up for a suplex but he quickly countered it into a roll-up and picked up the 3-count.

Winner: Daniel Bryan

Rating : B

Return, Revenge and Recycle(d jokes)

Something else that happened last week was R-Truth’s return and subsequent revenge on Miz. He complains to JL who reminds him why Truth would want to hurt him in the first place. JL cracks some joke about how it’s better to be a ‘sitting duck’ than a ‘lame duck’.

So another thing that happened last week, albeit in Smackdown, was that Wade Barrett threw Orton down a flight of stairs leading to him being out of contention. Santino interrupts the Barrett Barrage to call him ‘stupido’.

Sheamus vs The Miz

Miz started attacking Sheamus before the bell had even rung. He tried to entangle Sheamus’ arms in the ropes but failed. Fearing The Great White’s retribution Miz bolted through the crowd. His escape was impeded by R-Truth. He turned around to run in the other direction but met with Sheamus’ foot instead. Truth finished Miz off with a trademark ‘water bottle’-shot.

Zack and Jack get in each other’s faces. JL stops them and announces a match for the main event: Swagga & Mark Henry & Kane vs Ryder & Big Show & John Cena in a 6-Man Elimination Tag Match.

CM Punk vs Dolph Ziggler (WWE Championship)

Both men try to outwrestle each other initially. It’s an even battle after that. Neither man is in control for very long. Move after move they tried to get the upper hand but each time they lost momentum. At one point after kicking out of a couple of pin attempts Punk accidentally rips off the protective cover at a corner. He was about to put Ziggles to sleep when JL comes out and distracts the ref. Although Ziggles tapped out to the Anaconda Vice the ref didn’t see it. In the ensuing confusion Ziggler managed to send Punk flying outside (with a little help from JL) and won the match via countout.

Winner: Dolph Ziggler

Rating : F (HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE way to end a perfectly good match)

They pull the switcheroo.

Like a boss!

Punk vents his frustration at JL who announces a title match at Royal Rumble with the guest referee being he himself. Punk warns JL that if he cost him the title at RR he will beat him ‘like a bitch’. (I may be wrong but this if the first time I have heard that word spoken in WWE in a looong time)

So remember the whole creepy girl bit they kept showing: the ‘It comes now’ promo. Guess who’s back?

Iiiiiiiiits........ CHRIS JERICHO!!!

He comes out celebrates for a few minutes and leaves. (?)

Big Show & Zack Ryder & John Cena vs Mark Henry & Jack Swagger &.....

So Kane doesn’t show up and the match turns into a Handicap Match.

Cena dominates initially but loses control during the commercials. After some time tags are made on both sides bringing the giants into the match. It doesn’t last for long though. Henry tries to attack Show with a chair. Henry gets eliminated. Show attacks Henry with the same chair. Show gets eliminated. Swagger and Ryder then dish it out in the middle of the ring. Ankle lock on the US Champ. However he is able to tag in Cena who quickly finishes off Swagga as well.

Winners: Ryder & Cena

Rating : C

Drag Me To Hell

Kane’s music hits and Cena runs outside in anticipation. The Big Red Monster however rips open the mat in the ring and emerges from below attacking Ryder. When Cena finally realises this he tries to come back but is stopped by Kane with a choke hold. Kane turns his attention back inside the ring to Ryder who is cowering in fear. He tries to drag him back to ‘hell’ through the hole he created in the middle of the ring but SuperCena saves the day.

We end the show with an explosion from inside the hole in the ring.

Hello ladies and gentlemen welcome to yet another Highland View! Before we get into the article today, wanted to say merry Christmas and happy new year to all! I hope you enjoyed yourselves! Now that we are in 2012, wow that is weird to say, we can look back at the year that was 2011, well in wrestling terms that is. So let’s get to it!

Returns, Returns, Returns
As is the case every year we had ‘those’ guys returning, for example Undertaker and Triple H. However, those were guys we knew would come back to the WWE, we just didn’t think they’d face each other. What we didn’t know is that the most electrifying man in all of sports entertainment would come back to Monday Night Raw! In what was defiantly a ‘shocking’ moment was the revelation that The Rock was returning once again to the WWE. Not only did that mean that Wrestlemania was saved from the awful ‘Bieber Fever’ but it also gave us the chance to see the Rock one on one against Cena. Finally, two of the biggest stars of their respective eras collide at Wrestlemania 28!

Retirements
As is the case with returns, what would be a year in the WWE without even the best calling it a day? First of we had the sad, and WAYYY to early retirement of Edge. Sometimes life hands you some bad cards, and boy was this certainly was this a bad one. I remember the day I saw that Edge was retiring and my jaw literally dropped. At first I thought that the WWE was joking and trying to pull some sort of joke on us. Oh how do I wish that was the case. However, when every door closes another one opens and we saw the push of Christian and the breakthrough chance for Ladberto Del Rio! After such sad news we also must remember that Michelle “Ladytaker” McCool also hung up her boots in 2011. TO say I am even close to as sad as I was for the retirement of Edge would be an understatement. Yes having her gone is bad for the diva’s division, despite her SHOCKING storyline (Laycool) she was still better than most of the divas they have.  Now before I wrap up this section the final guy I need to mention is the old man himself, Finaly! As I said before in one of my previous articles Finaly leaving the WWE was downright stupid. He was a backstage guy (worked with divas) and at a house show, a HOUSE show (stuff which people don’t care about as much) he tried something and it didn’t work. SO WWE decides to fire him! Sheesh that is stupid by them. Oh well, sad to see these guys go but everyone has their time.

Rise of the new guys
What I mean by this is the rapid rise of the ‘rookies’ of the WWE, such as Daniel Bryan and Ladberto Del Rio. Both of whom where main event title holders in 2011, yes Bryan was for the very last part of it but oh well! It was nice to see that WWE, well somewhat tried, to give the title to people that the public, not the stupid pre-pubescent ‘WWE Universe’ wanted! Moreover didn’t we see the Miz finally rise to a position that suits him? NO longer a joke in the mid-card division he’s moved on from that awful ‘Chick-magnet’ gimmick to just being what he really is, awesome.

Repetition
What I mean by this is not giving guys that actually deserve a chance, such as DREW McINTYRE! More than that they also half-arsed attempts at giving people pushes, I mean look a Dolph Ziggler. He was, for about 2 minutes, a world heavyweight champion. Granted it was one of the stupidest storylines I have seen the WWE do of late, but still. He goes from being at Edge’s level to being some random mid-carder again. Now granted I somewhat have to eat my words as Ziggler has a title shot, but I honestly can’t see Punk losing his title. Back to McIntyre, one minute he is the chosen one and dominating the upper mid-card when he debuted. For 2011 he was just the guy in dark matches or on superstars, what a letdown.

CM Punk
Now since about the summer CM Punk has hit a status that very few other WWE superstars have reached, god-like. He was able to sit down at the end of Rarely Any Wrestling and talk about whatever he wanted to. Not even Cena has really had that chance! Heck, Edge only got that shot to announce he was leaving the WWE. CM Punk gave some AMAZING promos and earnt himself the top dog status of the WWE, which he rightfully deserves. He went from being a nobody in Nexus to “best wrestler in the world”. Now isn’t that just a bit of a change? Well played CM, well played.

Now we move onto our question;

Question: What are your thoughts on the Jericho return?

Answer: Well to be honest it was a bit of a surprise, certainly a later Christmas ‘gift’ from the WWE, but I was to be expected. I knew that after his Dancing With The Stars and his band stint Jericho would be returning soon enough to the WWE, it was just a case of when really. Now this is the perfect time for him. Triple H is gone, Edge is retired so WWE needs someone who is reliable to turn to. Bang, Jericho is your man. Plus Taker doesn’t really have a big Wrestlemania opponent yet (Guys like Barret don’t have enough credibility to be in that match) so WWE needs someone, preferably a heel, to turn to. Again bang, Jericho is your man. Both heel and face he can kill on the mic. Plus he’s a darn good wrestler. So I am pretty much fairly happy with Jericho returning. However, what I’d like to see is for people to stop jumping on the “Jericho is returning yeah!” sort of train. We had this with Ladberto Del Rio and with CM Punk. Choose your side, don’t keep swapping because it’s fashionable!

So, welcome one and all to Hazed and Confused. I am your host, Joose2001, and for this edition I shall be looking back at the past year in wrestling and handing out the Hazed & Confused Wrestling Awards for 2011 (cue jazzy sounding music, red carpet and Jack Nicholson)

I will say now, that these awards are my opinion and my opinion only. I only tend to watch WWE, I've never seen or intend to watch a TNA show and its very rare now that I watch Ring Of Honor, CHIKARA, CZW and Shimmer so all of these awards will be biased towards the WWE.
If you agree with me, great. If you don't, great... Either way I'm not bothered...... On with the show!


The “Why Didn't Anyone Tell Me?” Award
A few days before Wrestlemania, there was a press conference held at Planet Hollywood in Times Square, New York.
Now imagine you're actually in New York on holiday at that exact time, that you are in Time Square around the time the press conference was held.
Now, imagine that you had no idea that this was even going on until an hour after it had finished and you will now know the annoyance and utter rage that I felt!

Non-Wrestler Of The Year
There's not too many people that I can think of for this award, so I will give it to the one who people thought had no reason to be anywhere near a wrestling ring, let alone in one at Wrestlemania.
That's right, the winner of this award is Snooki!
Everyone wrote her off well before her match and even though she only performed two moves, they were done with such precision that even the Atlanta crowd cheered for her.

Promo Of The Year
This is a forgone conclusion as this promo came out of nowhere and got a lot of wrestling fans excited for what was coming next. At the time it seemed so real and we all wanted to know where it was leading, it was fresh and really blurred the lines between a shoot and work.
It started off what was expected to be an exciting time in the WWE, featured shout-outs to New Japan, Ring Of Honor and Colt Cabana.
So obviously, Promo Of The Year goes to CM Punk and the promo on RAW.

Surprise Of The Year
Earlier in the year it was announced that Wrestlemania would feature a guest host for the event.
Fans everywhere were guessing who it would be with some hilarious rumours and guesses, would it be Justin Beiber?
Then the night came, a limo pulled up and..... Stephanie McMahon?? 
Alas no, a few moments later “IF YOU SMEEEELLL.....” blasted through the arena, the fans and IWC exploded as The Rock finally returned to the WWE in a totally unexpected moment.

Shocking Moment Of The Year
This was as much shocking as it was a very sad moment for wrestling fans around the world, especially those who were fans in the 80's and early 90's.
On May 20^th 2011, it was reported that Macho Man Randy Savage had passed away after suffering a heart attack whilst driving with his fiancé. The news came as a huge shock to fans who had lost one of the greats.

Stupidity Of The Year
Two decent wrestlers were built up to have a match at Wrestlemania for the United States title. The match was advertised a lot on WWE programming and fans were looking forward to it.
The night of Mania came along, fans watching live at home were kept waiting and waiting and waiting for the match that never came.
The fans in the arena, and ones that had looked on news sites, knew that the match between Sheamus and Daniel Bryan had been relegated to dark match status and turned into a Battle Royale that the Great Khali won.
This is pure and utter stupidity on behalf of the WWE, turning a anticipated match into a complete and utter shambles.

Let-down Of The Year
Built up with a lot of fan-fare, slated to be a big thing as he was one of HHH's acquisitions, Sin Cara came into the WWE and then..... botch after botch, suspension due to violating the wellness-policy, a craptacular angle involving a “evil” Sin Cara all left the impression that the Sin Cara experiment was a complete and utter FAIL.

Worst Angle Of The Year
What started off as an angle that should have been over and done with at Wrestlemania dragged on and on through out the year and gave ring and promo time to two men who are both known more for being commentators. One of these is a retired wrestler, a legend who should have easily beaten his opponent, a man who had never stepped in a ring before.
Instead we got a boring drawn out match at Wrestlemania, a screw-job ending and a bunch of crap thrown in to fill the following months that wanted most fans to kill their selves.
Yes, Lawler and Cole, your feud sucked and went on far too long.

Best Angle Of The Year
Despite that this angle went nowhere in the end with a terrible follow-up and lead to the return of Kevin Nash and John Laurenitis as a on-screen personality, it started off majorly hot and left wrestling fans second-guessing what would happen next.
The whole story of CM Punk leaving the WWE after his contract expired and taking the title with him captivated fans, this also led to the on-screen departure of Vince McMahon, HHH gaining “control” and then …. creative botched it more than a Sin Cara match.
But for a few weeks, wrestling was awesome again and fans had something to look forward to.

PPV Of The Year
Surprisingly, Wrestlemania was not the best PPV of 2011, instead the best show of the year came a few months later. It featured a solid under-card, some feel-good moments, a hot crowd and a 5* main event.
Money In The Bank was an amazing show and one of the best that WWE has put on in the past few years.

Worst Match Of The Year
I'm not going to spend too much time on this match, as it was purely awful despite the people involved. It lasted under 2 mins, which for a 8-man tag match at Mania is stupidly short, and one of the men involved was replaced with no real explanation the same day
So for that and more, the worst match was The Corre Vs Big Show, Kane, Santino and Kofi

Best Match Of The Year
This match was the main event at the best PPV of the year, kicked off the “Summer Of Punk” and was awarded 5*'s.
It had everyone talking, wondering if WWE would pull the trigger and have someone leaving the company walk away with the title, or if they would just keep it on their poster-child.
We all know by now how good this match was so I wont talk about it anymore.

Worst Wrestler Of The Year
I've already given my reason in a previous award above, so without any further delay my Worst Wrestler Of The Year award goes to Sin Cara.

Most Improved Wrestler Of The Year
This was very hard for me to decide, as three men in particular have improved immensely in the past year. Two of these are young and should be the future of the business, another is a veteran who has finally been awarded for his years of work, took the ball and ran with it and impressed a lot of people.
So, I actually going to call this a three-way tie between Dolph Ziggler, Cody Rhodes and Mark Henry.

Best Wrestler Of The Year
This should come as no surprise to anyone reading and paying attention to the awards already given out.
CM Punk's year started off slow as the leader of the New Nexus and entered a feud with Randy Orton. This lead into the highlight of the year, a feud with John Cena, winning the WWE title on the day his contract expired, returning and again beating Cena at Summerslam to become the undisputed champion, losing the title to Alberto Del Rio and then winning back the title to be the current champion as we start off 2012.
Ladies and Gentlemen, your wrestler of the year.... CM Punk.

So, there we have it. You will probably all disagree with me and if you do then good for you. We all have differing opinions and please leave comments below on who you think should have won the above awards.

Before we wrap up this article, I would like to offer my predictions for the coming year...

2012 Predictions
*Cena will still not turn heel, but will get booed out the building at Wrestlemania 28 and will defeat The Rock in a “torch-passing” moment.

*Daniel Bryan will lose the title before Wrestlemania as despite being one of the best wrestlers on the roster, creative will have nothing for him.

*It Begins...... J(anuary) B (2^nd) L (12)

*TNA will continue to suck

*Matt Hardy will be the “wrestler most likely to die” in 2012 and noone will care

*If he comes back this year, it will also involve the retirement of The Undertaker

*Sin Cara will be released

*Dolph Ziggler and Cody Rhodes will both win World Titles by the end of the year

*The mystery GM will never be revealed and WWE will hope we all just forgot about it

*Ring Of Honor moves up to become the number 2 promotion in the US and has a close working-agreement deal with the WWE.

*CHIKARA will finally get the recognition it deserves and national TV exposure.

*Tag Team wrestling will again be important in the WWE with the debut of the Kings Of Wrestling (Claudio Castagnoli and Chris Hero) and the return of Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas.

*The Rock will not return full time, he will appear at Wrestlemania and that will be the end of his return.

*In a sad note, a very well loved and respected legend will pass on to the next life.

Kofi Kingston- Everytime I think of mid card these days I think of Mr Kingston. To his feuds with Shelton in ECW to his tag with Evan Bourne it seems that Kofi has been stuck in the Mid Carder realm. I do not know why? He has a great look he has a nice following of fans. He has a decent finisher and signatures. His Mic skills are ok. He had good and decent feuds for the US and IC titles. I guess he took the place of my 2nd favorite wrestler Shelton Benjamin? a great talent that has minimal- to ok mic skills. Not a bad thing what so ever and he does his job very well.

Side Note: Is he still Jamican or what?

Cody Rhodes- Another great mid card talent that has been entertaining us with his new gimmick. Personally I love Cody Rhodes, but this new feud with Randy can go two ways. They can use Cody To push Randy Orton even harder! Or this can put Cody on the map permantly. Remember feuding with main event talent does not always translates into instant stardom ala Benjamin vs Triple H, Christian vs Jericho and etc, but this can give him more momentum and a shot at the World Heavyweight title, but for now lets just thank Cody for giving us great mid card talent

Dolph Ziggler- Some wrestlers show frustration about being on the mid card. Not Dolph Ziggler he has taken his mid card run in stride and has entertained us without really having a good feud in awhile. His character is just entertaining to watch. His a good wrestler with a look Vince likes and a walk and talk of a champion. Vickie has done him alot of good. Personally I think he would be a normal cocky heel without Vickie, but I am not saying he wont do good on his own. He has given us something to look forward to in the middle of the show

Goldust-Goldust is not Gay! He is the bizzare as coined by vince Mcmahon himself. He tried to get inside his opponents heads, by doing some of the weirdest borderline homo stuff. He pulled it off a little to well, because normal wrestling fans kept calling him gay. He pull the character off with ease, and seeing him interact with multiple superstars was funny stuff. I am not saying he did not do anything questionable homoness in the ring, but it was not even close to the TNA Orlando Jordan gimmick. Jeez that was the just hard to watch! So just realize that he supposed to be weird and Bizzare not Gay and Butt Happy. As long you keep a open mind

Side Note: Goldust gimmick is a personally favorite of mind and the reason hes on my list. I might take some heat for it but I don't mind.  Personally that goldust has been under used recently. I mean why not put someover with Goldie? He could show a characters true colors by his "odd" actions. I say give him a chance to prove once again he can creep out and entire generation..Goldie For the win.

            See how time flies so fast? We are already starting the yearly Bouncing Slammies. I am excited for it as well, since I don't know who will win what, yet. I like to keep stuff as a surprise to me as well, if that makes any sense to you. Anyways, here are the rules for this year's Slammy awards. These will be slightly different.

             Well, there will be three categories. The individual category, the team category, and the other category. The rule is that no superstar can have multiple individual slammies. Also, if you have won a slammy in the same category in 2009 or 2010, you are ineligible for it this year.              This award will go to the person that has been the best jobber of 2011. What makes a good jobber? Making your opponent look good? Selling gigantic moves? Those are key aspects to being a jobber. You need to know how to sell moves. Most powerhouses are jobbers, which doesn't make a lot of sense. Also, I am aware that not everybody has been reading since 2008, so I am going to say who has won the past awards, so here are the winners from the past:

That leaves just one team left. Trust me; the winners are great wrestlers.

I wouldn't mind so much if he still wasn't treated like the god of wrestling. If Jack Swagger missed that many shows then he would be fired. I respect Undertaker, but having one special return per year gets repetitive on me, and the impact of it greatly decreases every time. With the remaining ones, I will go by which one I found the most exciting.

Jinder Mahal made it to the final two of that huge battle royal, but he got eliminated by the worst wrestler of all time. That was probably his biggest moment of the year. Out of all these guys, I would say that Epico has entertained me the most, even though he debuted really late in the year.

             Every year we get a lot of matches to choose from. This is one of those awards that has to be present every year (WWE does not recognize it). This award does not need any further introduction. Here are the past winners:

Even though the worst wrestler of all time ruined it, it was still a great match at Extreme Rules.

Q: What is your favorite gimmick that involved facepaint and/or a mask?

A: That is a tough one. It comes down to Kane and Doink The Clown. I watched Doink when I was a 10 year old kid, or at least around there. I enjoyed his gimmick, and I am not ashamed of it. I am going to choose Doink for that question.

             Well, WWE had their Slammy awards, so what should we do about it? We should look at what went on, and try our best to make the most of it, right? I like the next option. We should see stuff as it is instead of just blinding ourselves by false situations.

Twitter award

             It was ridiculous last year, and it is not changing. It is still as ridiculous as it was. That is all I need to say about that, for now. Zack Ryder won it, but who cares?

A-Lister of the year

             Why did Snooki win an award before Snitsky? Also, if anybody should have won this award, it should be David Otunga.

Pipe Bomb of the year

             How can you choose CM Punk over Teddy and R-Truth? What is this award for anyways? Botch of the year? No, since some of this wasn't botched. I don't get it, but whatever.

Diva moment

             Who cares?

Game changer of the year

             I say Edge's “um” speech should have gotten this award instead of The Rock facing Cena in the future.

             I know that you all have noticed that I am just breezing through these awards, but come on. Look at how ridiculous they are. Twitter award? Diva award? They are just messing around with these. Look at this. LOOK AT THIS!!!! Are you telling me that wrestling fans care more about Twitter awards than tag team awards? Or how about MATCH OF THE YEAR???? Instead of serious awards, they just filled it up with gag awards. Why not make a “most likely to fall in the ring” award? Do they honestly think that this was a good idea? Did they think that nobody cared about match of the year? You cannot justify this, no matter how you can look at it. The only serious award they gave out was Superstar Of The Year, but that doesn't mean they took it serious. They still had the two worst wrestlers of all time going for that award. I know what is happening. WWE is just showing us that they don't care about us. They are showing us that they can do whatever they want, and still be the biggest wrestling company. Let's face it. They can do ANYTHING that they want to do. They were able to turn P.G, weren't they? They even let the best wrestler of all time go. Heck, they even can have the worst wrestler of all time win the title, and they still remain on top. That is why I would love TNA to step it up, so that WWE can stop messing around. We all know that will not happen. TNA is too busy having an eighty-eight second main event at a PPV. TNA messes around just as much as WWE does, but WWE at least has some sort of credibility. Anyways, let's continue.

Holy symbol spam moment of the year

             What should win? A reenactment of something that ALREADY HAPPENED? A poor imitation of John Morrison doing a shooting start press? A powerbomb right through a ladder? Last, and certainly least, there was the worst finisher of all time being performed on Christian? Well, they gave it to the reenactment, since WWE loves repeating stuff over and over and over and OVER again. Don't believe me? How many times has the worst wrestler ever fought Christian? How many times has Big Show fought Mark Henry? This is all in the span of just a few months.

Superstar transformation of the year

             Apparently Zack Ryder changed from and Edgehead to current Ryder all in 2011. The guys that stopped Snitsky from getting a title can't even keep track of their years. See my point? WWE creative has no idea what they are doing, for most of the time.

Sin Cara Vs. Sin Cara moment of the year

             HMMMMM.... I WONDER WHO ON IT!!!! Sin Cara Vs. Sin Cara was what won this, no surprise.

Return of the year

             Although John Morrison's return was badly botched by Triple H, it was still more triumphant than The Rock's return.

Most predictable outcome of the year

             WWE should have given this award to John Cena winning at Extreme Rules. It was way more predictable than what actually won.

OMG moment of the year

             OMG means that somebody is at least somewhat surprised, right? NOBODY thought that Undertaker was going to lose his streak, or at least I didn't. Almost everything that was running for this was predictable. I knew that Cena was not going to lose cleanly at Wrestlemania and MITB. I knew that Undertaker was not going to lose his streak. The walk out should have won since it was the least predictable out of the four, but my personal choice out of everything that happened will be announced on the annual Slammies that I am going to give out.

Superstar of the year

             They were just messing around with this one. Want to look at the contestants? Well, Jack Swagger and John Morrison weren't candidates, so you know that this was going to SUCK!!!! Here are the candidates that WWE chose:

Why would you put the worst two wrestlers in the running for this while NONE of the top ten wrestlers of all time are on it? CM Punk ended up winning. Ah I think I just answered my own question. None of the top ten wrestlers said stuff like “Hey Colt Cabana”. I feel so stupid just for asking.

Ladies and Gentlemen welcome to another edition of Ragnarok’s RAW Report. And if you think that’s too many “R’s”.... meh...

We are the Champions

We start tonight’s show with a drumroll. CM Punk announces the results of TLC. First off, it’s the result of the triple threat TLC match between ADR, Miz and CM Punk. The winner, of course, was Punk. He comes out with the belt to celebrate his win and successful defense of his title. Next he announces the result of the US Championship match which was won by The Long Island Ice Z, Zack Ryder. Finally the World Heavyweight Championship match between Mark Henry and Big Show was won by... Daniel Bryan. All three men then fist pump along with the rest of the crowd in Philadelphia. He hands over the mic to Zyder and Bryan, both of whom express their disbelief at their wins. Their victory celebration is disrupted by the respective TLC losers – Miz, Dolph and ADR come out and try to attack. JL comes out and breaks up the fight; then he sets up the main event for the night – Miz, ADR and Ziggie vs Punk, Bryan and Ryder.

Randy Orton vs Wade Barrett

Barrett starts off strong but quickly loses momentum. The match quickly heads outside and here he regains control by dropping Orton on the barriers. After the commercials Barrett is still dominating over Orton and continues to wear him down. Orton comes back with a bang countering a roundhouse attempt and then going through his routine. A thumb to the eye just before receiving the RKO leads to Barretts disqualification. He beats down on Orton and shows his new finisher – a tilt-a-whirl side slam he calls Winds of Change. Then he brings a table into the ring and sends Orton though it via Wasteland.

Alicia Fox vs Beth Phoenix

Is Lita coming back?

Sheamus vs Jinder Mahal

The match lasted less than two minutes!

Winner: Sheamus

The Big Red Return

Cena has a few words to say about Kane’s comeback last week when he chokeslammed him as RAW went off the air. He addresses Kane and tells him that if last week was an accident then he doesn’t care but if it wasn’t then they should settle things in the ring. Instead of the Big Red Machine, Mark Henry comes out and says that if it wasn’t for Kane, Cena would have joined the Hall of Pain. He says he wants to address everyone regarding his health and his loss at TLC. Kane also comes out still wearing the black mask. He ignores Mark Henry and goes after Cena. He attacks him outside the ring and completely chokes him out before ripping off his shirt.

The Usos vs Primo & Epico

Primo and Epico dominate initially with frequent tags. Jay finally tags in Jimmy who has his initial flourish but after a distraction by Primo succumbs to a Backstabber by Epico.

Winner: Primo & Epico

Rating : C

Rhodes makes fun of Booker’s loss and of Santino who incidentally comes behind him to give him a Christmas present. He has a box by his side inside which is... a Christmas Cobra.

Cody Rhodes vs Santino Marella

Let’s get one thing straight. There was only one ending to this match.

Winner: Cody Rhodes

They show a clip from WWE’s Tribute to the Troops with Cena in the ring and the rest of the roster near the Tron.

What I want for Christmas

The Bellas are arguing with each other and also complaing to JL about Teddy Long. JL allays their concerns and wishes them a Merry Christmas. They kiss him and then leave. Now Vicky comes out and complains about Zigglers loss. Hornswoggle is standing behind her with a mistletoe in his hand. He shows the mistletoe to her and steals a kiss. (Ewww!)

Perspectives

Josh is backstage with Big Show asking him about his win at TLC against Henry and then the loss to Bryan on the same night. A very emotional Show blames himself for Bryan taking advantage of the MiTB briefcase because he was the one who encouraged him to cash it in even before Wrestlemania. Matthews tells him that it must definitely hurt him knowing that his was probably one of the shortest WHC title reigns of all time. Show gets really upset at that and stares at Josh for a few seconds before leaving.

The Miz & Dolph Ziggler & Alberto Del Rio vs Zack Ryder & Daniel Bryan & CM Punk

(By the by, all three champions walk in through the crowds instead of the usual way.) Miz starts things off against the WWE Champion Miz. There is an initial moment of flurry where tags are made on both sides but the action quickly went outside. Team heel went outside and one by one Team Champions jumped on them from inside. After the break its Bryan against Miz who finally seizes control with a DDT. ADR and Ziggler also have their moments with Bryan. He finally makes a comeback against Ziggler at the corner when he stopped a charge by the former US champion. He quickly tags in the current US champion who goes to work against Ziggler but doesn’t stay in control for long. Dropkick gives the control back to Team Heel. Ryder suffers at their hands for some time before countering ADR and tagging Punk in. On the other side Miz is tagged in too. Punk goes through his routine – running bulldog, elbow drop and finishes off with an anacondoa vice. Ziggler breaks it up though and is quickly taken out by Ryder. Tags are made on both sides and Bryan welcomes ADR with a missile dropkick. GTS by Punk on Miz. The legal men in the ring -- ADR and Bryan fight it out. ADR tries to go for a CAB but Bryan counters it into a LeBell lock.

Winners: Team Champions

Rating : B

             I remember last year's TLC. It had one of the greatest matches of all time. It had John Morrison taking on Sheamus for #1 contendership. Although the story was destroyed, it was still a great match. How is this one going to be? Well let me just say that the ONLY way WWE can make it have at least SOME sort of credibility, Cena is going to have to be absent for the entire show, and we all know that is not going to happen.

Intercontinental Championship: Cody Rhodes Vs. Booker T

            I can already tell that this is going to be the match of the night, but WWE may prove me wrong this time. Both men are great wrestlers, and although Booker T is passed his prime, I still think that he can still pull off a decent match Sunday night. These two are terrific wrestlers, and I look forward to what these two can end up doing at TLC. Good luck to both of them.

Result: Cody Rhodes remains the title holder

United States Championship: Dolph Ziggler Vs. Zack Ryder

             WWE is way too late to be giving Zack Ryder this push that he deserved (please note that I am emphasized the past tense part of that word). They should have given this push LONG before he had to play Green Day in an episode of his show. I am going to admit that when ECW was on the air in 2009, Zack Ryder was the best on it. He was my second favorite, but he asked me to not root for him anymore (not with words, but I still got the message loud and definitely clear). He is a good wrestler, so that show has nothing to do with it. I liked Ryder long before his show came out, so I am not jumping onto any bandwagons nor am I a bandwagoner. The show being on Youtube did not make his wrestling skills excel. His wrestling skills were already at a high. Then look at Ziggler. Earlier this year, he was given a shot at the title. Finally he was getting a singles world title shot. How does he lose? A dirty loss by a face. Who am I going for? I am definitely going to go for the go-man that is going to excel at this match, and looks strong going into TLC, Dolph Ziggler (dammit I only got 5, but 6 if you count the last one).

Result: Zack Ryder is GOING to win

Tables match: Wade Barrett Vs. Randy Orton (who got Kennedy fired)

            This just might be the last time that we are going to see Wade Barrett with WWE. Joking? Of course not. I am saying this with the most seriousness that I can possibly say it in. Wade MUST be careful. If Randy Orton (who got Kennedy fired) overjumps anything (like a backsuplex), then Barrett is going to get fired FOR SURE. He also better quadruple check the tables, to make sure that absolutely NOTHING will go even the SLIGHTEST bit wrong. Wade is a phenomenal athlete, but I don't think he is good enough to carry the worst wrestler ever to a .01 star match. If he is able to do that, I will respect him even more, because only the best of the best could carry Randy Orton (who got Kennedy fired) to a rating that high.

Result: Randy Orton (who got Kennedy fired) ends up winning it

Stupid stipulation match (you got that right): HHH Vs. Kevin Nash

             Are you telling me that they are going to knock eachother out SO COLD just to get a hammer? If the opponent is going to be knocked out long enough for you to get the hammer, then just pin him, then afterwards you can get the hammer, whether it is high above the ring or just under it. It is going to be the ladder match of the night, which is sad. At first, I thought it was going to be a match where you had to make a ladder out of hammers, that would be awesome compared to this. I also doubt that there aren't already hammers under that ring. This match is just stupid on so many different levels, but I still say it can be entertaining. Although it is really stupid, WWE was definitely messing around with it, and it is not like it is a title match. Both men can pull off a decent match, and I wonder exactly how that damn sledgehammer is going to come into play. I want to see the ending of the entire match; that is the part that I am unsure of (not who wins, but HOW they win, with the hammer or just a finisher?).

Result: HHH wins

World Heavyweight Championship: Mark Henry Vs. Big Show

             AGAIN???? ARE YOU TELLING ME THAT THERE IS NOBODY ELSE THAT IS ABLE TO GET A SHOT???? Don't get me wrong, these two are great wrestlers, but they do not need to fight for the title in ANOTHER pay per view. Give the shot to Cody Rhodes (and give the Intercontinental title to Snitsky). Switch Jack Swagger to Smackdown and give him the shot. WE DO NOT NEED TO SEE THIS AGAIN DAMMIT!!!! Also, I have said this many times, but apparently it does not stick. SHOW CANNOT PLAY A FACE!!!! BIG SHOW CANNOT BE A GOOD FACE!!!! DID YOU GET THAT? Another thing is, what is up with Daniel Bryan not being able to cash it in on Mark Henry? How come Edge can cash in on John Cena? How come Edge can cash it in on Undertaker? How come Edge can take it away from Ken Kennedy? How come CM Punk can cash in on Edge? How come Jack Swagger can cash in on Chris Jericho? How come CM Punk can cash in on Jeff Hardy? I won't type in EVERY cash in, but COME ON!!!! Isn't that the whole point of the briefcase? It is to cash in at ANY moment for THE WORLD TITLE? WHEN DID THIS CONCEPT BECOME SUCH A HASSLE TO FOLLOW ACCORDINGLY? I wouldn't mind so much if this turned Teddy into a heel, because it will at least be part of a storyline, but he is still a face. RAW is also guilty for not being consistent. John Cena scolds Alberto Del Rio for cashing it in, while it was okay for Edge to cash it in on him. If WWE is going to do this to their briefcase, why even have it? Anyways, yea I think I know how this is going to end.

WWE Championship: CM Punk Vs. Alberto Del Rio Vs. The Miz

            I am almost at the word limit, so I won't rant as much. LOOK AT THIS!!!! ALL THREE HAD ALREADY HELD A WORLD TITLE IN WWE. ALL THREE ARE MULTI TIME WORLD CHAMPIONS. I can obviously forgive CM Punk (not because he said “Hey Colt Cabana”, but because he is the champion going into this match, so there is no other way to have a title match, unless they do the cliché injury vacancy storyline). How about the other two? I agree that they are both great wrestlers, but they have ALREADY had multiple reigns as champ. GIVE THE SHOT TO SOMEONE ELSE DAMMIT!!!! Look at the roster. There is Jack Swagger (he is not a multi time world champion, and I want him to be in the main event, since he is the best wrestler to ever hold the World Heavyweight Championship), John Morrison, Kennedy, Snitsky, Ted DiBiase, Trent Barreta, DH Smith, D 'Lo Brown, etc. There are so many other great wrestlers that could make this match a lot better. What does WWE decide to do? Give us the same people that have already gotten a shot. Who is the best wrestler going into this match? Alberto Del Rio is, so I am going to cheer for him. After him, I am going for The Miz, so you ALL know what that means....
